Louis is a class act & deserves a host that’s prepared & not in training, period!!

I went & listened to one of the videos & it sounded like she pronounced Linea as Lanai?
You'd think whoever briefs the hosts for their shows would make sure they know how to pronounce the names of things & who they'll be on with. Also, the host should try & familiarize themselves with the items & names that they're going to be selling beforehand just as a common courtesy.

@depglasswrote:Don't these shows have assigned producers? Its up to them to get the host up to speed. And if I were a new host I would either ask or watch some old videos if I saw a name beyond Smith or Jones.
Yes, whatever happened to "show prep"! And I would think the producer could have corrected her mispronounciations in her ear.

@DiAnnewrote:This show was on at 3 AM Pacific time. I did not watch but aren't most hosts on in the middle of the night while they are learning?
Pretty much. Why do they give Louis those awful hours for his shows.

@dexwrote:@queendiva I love Courtney now too but at the start of her career she drove me crazy. She has been with Q for a few years now so she has had time to become at ease and develope her style.I don't think many had anything great to say about her in the beginning either.
I always liked Courtney and could never figure why others did not like her. She even wore Louis's clothing with a younger vibe than his regular models and made it look kind of sassy and fun, in addition to the classic and sporty.
She is great with Louis. I also enjoyed J Brown with him.

I have to tell you. I studied theater in my life. That was my goal. I just was not suited for sofas. All joking aside, I did fine but was never a star. But, I have made some mistakes.
It seems when you are in such a situation, once you make a mistake, you are on a roll. With QVC being live, it was so noticeable. I have done live theater when someone or I would make a mistake and could not seem to stop making the same one repeatedly.
However, I learned all the lines of all the others, so I could pick up the ball for the opposition and take it to a level where they were comfortable and hopefully could recover. I think Louis was trying to do that. Sometimes you can and sometimes you cannot.
It is not unheard of in theater to make a mistake and not to be able to recoup within that act or that time frame but later on return and never miss a beat.
One problem in mispronouncing words is you start thinking about your last mispronunciation and the pronunciation gets worse each time you have to say it. I once was doing a Biblical play and had one of those very difficult names of a king to say and the more I said it, the worse it got.
That was in a college matinee, but it devastating at the time. Fortunately, no one in the audience knew any better than I unless there were some doctor of theology there. That night, I never mispronounced it a single time. Hopefully, she will take this time to sort out her nerves and learn. The only thing that makes it seem end of the world is because it is live and commercialism.

The host was Christine Zell. She really isn't that new. I was hollering at the TV, every time she mispronouced Linea. How hard is it to say. Louis is such a gentleman.
The hosts always mention the producers(?) speaking to them through the earphones giving updates, etc....think maybe one of them should have told her how to pronouncethe clothing line before the whole presentation passed......???
@kelsey17 as was already mentioned, the second or third time she mispronounced Linea and Louis corrected her, she exclaimed" why do i keep doing that?" which indicated she might have gotten a correction from her producer earlier. i am watching her now - another day, another show, she just called a vendor by the wrong name (Aimee instead of Danielle on accessories show). this gal has a problem.

Hello Everyone! I did see the entire show, and I too heard struggles both ways between Kristine and Louis. I must say (and I know that I am in the minority here on this post), that I truly enjoy Kristine as a host. She's a very kindhearted new mother with a warm, sweet demeanor. Although she is still training, lets all hope that her mistakes will be opportunities for her to learn and grow. We don't know the circumtances behind the show, such as the feedback Louis gave Kristine after the show, the producers, and perhaps even her own mother! I understand the level of respect that Louis has earned, and I love the passion and comments that I have read from some of the other posters, but I will say that some of the comments are a bit harsh. It's also unfair to compare. Kristine to some of the other hosts that have been there for years. Every host stumbles from time to time. My question would only be why Louis was scheduled for that early morning slot.
Thanks for reading, have a wonderful day, and hold close the one's you love![]()

I agree. She was very annoying. He was disgusted you could tell. She really took away from the show.

?? sometimes Louis is on at 1 a.m. Eastern. being on at 6 a.m. was a break for him.
the host needs to work on preparation and focus at a minimum. how she could mistake a woven for a knit, even with the description clearly indicating which was correct, and the garment next to her, points to her need to "get it together."
this has nothing to do with her being nice. she definitely has the gift of gab - but she needs to think before she speaks. simple as that.
now, i promise, i am moving on........as Louis has.
