Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Wow, Bopper, you had a monster of a storm. Glad your place didn't get hit too badly. How sad about the folks on the rocks...but why the heck didn't they know better?? Just not thinking I guess. So sad for their families.

Have fun planning your visit. I share your fear of flying.

I think autumn is finally here, we've seen the last of warm temps for this year. I enjoy the crisp cool air.

Hi to all. Good job keeping up with your visits to the gym!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  Nice very cool day for us yesterday.  By the time I left the house, all frost and ice was gone.  So I got my pedicure, gassed up and grocery shopping done.

@bopper, wow, that sounds like a really bad storm!  Must be the weather that I heard about over east.

Oh, great, you get to meet your grandbaby soon.  I get to meet my grand daughter on the 3rd.  Unfortunately, they will only be there the weekend and their time will be at a premium.  They want to go to Shedd Aquarium.  I think the daughter in law loves being on the move cause before my son married her, when he came I got more real visiting, not coming to sight see.  And I doubt she will leave the baby with me because, well, we know how most first time mothers are, lol.  I was like that with my second birth, not the first cause with first, I went to work when he was only two months old.  She keeps gloves on the baby 90% of the time.  I suggested cutting her nails down and she says she can't find baby clippers.  Grandmas can't say much, right, lol.

I'm gonna catch that early Zumba class this morning and maybe walk.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper  Glad you are okay and I'll bet that lousy travel will be worth it once you meet your grandchild.  So excited for you and @Mmsfoxxie!

Okay so grab your coffee or stronger beverage and here you go.  It's always an adventure these days at the gym!  Smiley Very Happy

I asked, asked, on Tuesday if they were going to do the Soul Body Power class again on Thursday.  Nope.  They previewed it again yesterday during my work hours but they are still deciding who is going to teach it so no class today. Smiley Sad

I wake up this morning and for the first time ever consider going in later and not doing my half hour workout before Power.  At the last moment, I do decide to go ahead and jump on my bike so I head out.

As I walk into the Power room to set up, I notice the same teacher from last week and a couple other girls set up for Soul Body Power.   Are you kidding me?  Smiley Surprised

So I have to grab a gym mat since I didn't come prepared (ewww) and take the class they told me they weren't having.  Enjoyed it immensely.  I love the variety of all the different exercises only 20 seconds each so if you hate one, you are over it in literally seconds.

So I am feeling a bit unloved and, if I was a more insecure person, I would have thought they just didn't want me there.  Turns out it was a very last minute add.  Sure.  Let's go with that story for now. Smiley Wink

Then we do the Power class.  Mrs. Rudeness strolls in and yells at a regular for taking "her spot."  It gets better.  This regular has had the same spot for the over 10 years I've been going.  Wrong person to try and intimidate.

So Mrs. Rudeness sets up right in front and I mean right in front of the instructors.  We start the warm up which involves lunging right and left.  Mrs. Rudeness adds karate chops and does her best Jackie Chan imitation.

I almost lost it.  And there were not a whole lot of people in class so I couldn't hide my laughter very well.  Thank goodness for pushups!

To top off the comedy for the hour, one of the instructors drank a whole cup of coffee beforehand and was speedy mouth for a while.  She finally calmed down half way through but, if ever there was a class to tape and put on FB, the world missed a good show.

Happy Thursday!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!

@Laura14, your gym stories are extremely funny.  I know it isn't funny when it is happening to you, but we've all been there.  On FB, I post the daily tool report, which is a synopsis of my commute.  It started out as a road condition post because I get into work so early and I did it to warn people about road conditions if they were nasty.  But then summer came and I turned it into the Tool Report to inform people of the idiots I encounter every day on my 25 mile drive to work.

I was asked to sub a zumba class on Monday and I turned it down because I just wasn't feeling it.  I will not turn it down again though.  I seriously just wasn't prepared.

Today is zumba and I always look forward to that.

To the G-ma's--I hope you enjoy your newest babies!!

To all our other sisters in sweat--hope you are doing well!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Happy Thursday!   So it sounds like we're in for another storm starting later today into tomorrow with over 3 inches of rain, changing to snow and wind....And so Winter begins here in the North...Oh well, it is what it is.

Foxxie you're so right, grandma's can't say much lol, I doubt my son and DIL will hardly ever come here.   She doesn't like it this far North, and my son works from March-October, than he's off from October -February and those are our coldest months.   Now we are not sure when we are going, flights were like $1000 per person for all the dates we checked.  We think because of the Holidays coming so change of plans and have to find other dates.   I asked them to come here as our whole family wants to see the baby but they are bucking about that idea, some things I understand.  Not easy traveling with an infant who is under 3 months old and if it were me I probably wouldn't want to either, but they are traveling to a wedding and taking the baby so there ya go!   Anyways, it is what it is and doing the best we can.

Laura thank you, your gym sure does have the drama doesn't it?   It's quite entertaining.

Nomless thank you too, I'll get there eventually but probably have "words" before that happens....

Lucy still waiting for you to tell us how things are going.   I am not sure if you read, but know we miss you!

MickD and Judy waving to you!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good Friday morning, it's still pitch dark here at 8 am, and raining.  100% rain all day and windy.  We have a funeral tonight at 5, my friends fiancee passed away suddenly, my heart aches for her, I can't imagine.

Guess it will be treadmill, bike and pilates this morning.  Did do abs yesterday on my TG with that crunch attachment.

Did anyone watch the Casa Zeta Jones home decor show or record it?  I recorded it because I was in bed but her things are so elegant.  I have a weakness for faux fur throws, want one in every room haha but then am afraid to use them, don't want them stained and I have grandchildren!!  LOL....

Hope you all have a great active day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper  I was tempted because I love throws too.  I went on a binge last year and I have more than enough blankets from BB&B.  I actually slept with my fur one from them last night.  I love it.

That reminds me.  Who got the cream Velvet sheets?  Was that you?  I LOVE mine just like I love my other four sets.  I know it's a problem.  I need rehab.

We are actually finally going to get a cold front coming through tomorrow so I am thinking of putting my polar fleece back on the bed to really try them out.  I was actually hot which I am never hot when I tried them when they first came.

I love this time of the year when I can bundle up and not be looked at strangely.  I might even try my hand at making chili this weekend.  It's been a while.

Happy Friday!!
