Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, it's in the 50's here but the bottom drops out during the night.  Under a Wind/Rain storm warning, 60-70 mph winds and 24' waves.  If you don't hear from me tomorrow it's because i lost power.  We seem to lose power if there is hardly wind at all.  I wish they would have buried the power lines like in some neighborhoods, that would solve  a lot of problems.

Thank you for the Anniversary wishes, we really didn't do much, it was raining and nasty so watched football and ordered a pizza.  Nothing wrong with that though.

MickD that's way to hot for almost November!

foxxie I understand your rain feelings, we are supposed to get over 2 inches just tomorrow alone.  At least ours isn't "white" yet...and I say "yet"!

Nomless I hope Monty feels better, my sisters cat puked 7 times yesterday and is hiding behind the couch.  She's taking him to the vet today.

My new grandson has been a handful the kids said.  He cries nonstop, I feel bad for them.  My boys hardly ever cried but this one is still very tiny so maybe that's why too.  My boys were over 9 pounds when they were born and he's only that now at 7 weeks.   Hard to know if their tummy has gas or just what but the dr. checked him over and didn't find anything unusual with him.   They had him in the nursery at church yesterday and of course he slept the entire time, go figure.

I put my Christmas lights and garland around the deck today, thought why do it when my fingers are freezing and its nasty out, doing it now and avoiding that.  My flower boxes are put away now but my hanging baskets still look good, I may try and take them inside and keep them but those pots have the little drainage holes in the bottom and I'd have to water them in the sink an wait for the water to stop dripping.  I'm not repotting, that's a mess in itself.  I guess if they croak then they do!

I did treadmill this morning and bike and stretched on the reformer.

Lucy how is the house coming, haven't heard from you in a while, hoping you are enjoying Fall there and everyone is doing okay.

Have a good rest of the day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper Happy belated anniversary...I am sure it was extra special this year with all you guys have gone through!

My son cried constantly.  I had a neighbor knock on my door to check on things.  My son was colicky and hypersensitive to changes in the environment - light, cold, whatever.  Thank goodness it only lasted about 2 1/2 - 3 months....plus I was a stay-at-home-mom.....that helped.  I feel for them!

Great idea to decorate now!  It's so hot here, that I haven't put out all the Halloween decor yet.  Don't want stuff to fade and warp.

Our pool build has literally sat about a month.  The city inspector didn't pass us because the lights weren't in yet.  I gave the contractor a few choice words.  Her response - every city is different.  Uh......not my problem.  Well, I guess it is, but the call was going down hill fast after my dropped f bombs....so I ended it.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning all.  Happy belated anniversary, @bopper.  Yeah, some babies cry more than others and suddenly they stop.  My little grandbaby gave her parents holy heck for about a month after birth.  She needed to be held all the time to be calm.  That's when she felt safe.  I can't wait until the weekend of November 2nd when I get to see her live and in person.  I hope she lets me hold her, lol.

Raining still.  It stopped awhile last night but here it is again.  Not hard like yesterday.  My wipers we're going full blast while out.

Body Sculpt, Flexibility and then Zumba this morning.  I'm going to try to do the whole Zumba class this time since I didn't do anything yesterday.

I'm going to make this rainy day great.  Hope you all do the same.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Happy Anniversary!  Happy Grandkids!  Happy Tuesday!

I went to Pound this morning.  She snuck in some Halloween tracks which were not Halloween tracks.

She claimed one was the Monster Mash.  No it wasn't.

And the other was Ghostbusters which they sang one original phrase of about halfway through whatever the rest of the song was.

She said she left out another one because it didn't sound Halloweeny.  It was probably the only song in the original artist's form.  Not of fan of this chopping up and rearranging songs that were already hits to begin with.  Am I officially old yet?

Then we did Power which I am getting better at.  I asked her if she was bringing back that Barre class we did on Thursday.  I got a maybe if we can find someone to teach it.  Sure, I finally fall in love with a class and it's not offered at a time I can go.  She said they are doing it tomorrow at 8:30am.  Some of us work at that time.  Smiley Sad

Oh well.  She asked the girl beside me to pose for a FB pic.  She also was filiming when I walked into the club today.  I am going to start submitting my modeling fees if we are now Project Gym Runway.

She actually told us to maybe start wearing makeup at 5am so she could put us on the FB page.  Um, no.  Smiley Frustrated

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@Laura14--Makeup at 5:30 before a workout?  I'm with you, only with the eff word in the sentence "are you kidding me?"

Hi everyone!!  It sounds like you have all been busy!  I actually got a call to sub a Zumba class at the other gym downtown yesterday and said no--I was just not in the mood.  I will do it though if they ever call me again.

Funny you should mention Halloween tracks--my Zumba instructor does Thriller all October.  I actually learned a Lablast waltz to You put a Spell on Me--which isn't really Halloween, but is in the spirit.  They also released a Cha Cha to the actual Ghostbusters song, which I didn't learn.  I'm also working on two other waltzes.  One to Joe Cocker's version of Bye Bye Blackbird and one for Christmas to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Christmas/Sarajevo"

I boxed on Friday, did Quick Fit yesterday and will do small group today.  I'm on the countdown to my mini vacation in less than 3 weeks (actually 2 weeks from Thursday!)

Hope you all have a great day!

@DrKelli  We are supposedly getting Thriller next week.  I only hope I recognize their version.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Haha!  My Zumba instructor uses the original and keeps the dance pretty close to what was in the video.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Top of the morning to everybody.  I think the rain has stopped but there is supposed to be frosty/icy this morning.  I hope that melts before I step out.

@DrKelli, I'd look to do a routine to Thriller.  Music with a beat motivates me.

@Laura14, I would never wear makeup to an exercise now.  Years ago, when I was younger and exercised straight from work, I did it but now, I must allow my skin to breathe.  My face really sweats a lot now.  Not to mention, nobody is going to film me in leggings at anytime with my knowledge.  I'm not as vain as I used to be but heck, no.  Especially my backside, lol.

No exercise planned today.  Runaround day.  If it's not icy when I leave, I might go with a pedicure to finish up my husband's birthday gift card to me.

Evryone have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, well it was a bumpy ride to say the least.   We lost power yesterday for almost the entire day.   Remember I told you guys we were in for a doozy of a storm.  Well they are now saying it was like a catagory 1 hurricane.   Seriously I have never been in something like that living way up here in the North country.  28 foot waves, and trees down everywhere.  Logan didn't eat the entire day, was panting hard and extremely upset.   And now 2 people are missing as they were the idiots who stood on the rocks to watch those waves and got swept away.  My heart aches for them and for the responders in the choppers who flew here in that storm to try and find them.  So far unsuccessful, sometimes they never find them.  This lake is a beautiful lake but when she is angry you had better be far away, it's a graveyard!   So today is clean up and we lost a shutter on the house and have a rather large limb in the driveway but we are back with power now.  Good thing I have a wood stove as I was toasty warm, heated my coffee which I had made the night before, put in a thermos and heated in a pot on the wood stove.  We heated homemade soup I had thawed the day before on the stove too and we were tucked in here waiting it out.   My son just got his power back after 14 hours.  I told them to come here because the baby is only 1 1/2 but they were already at her moms so they stayed there last night.    I did 45 minutes on my Xbike though while watching it, needs no electricity but me to make that move so no excuses that way.    Today I did grocery shopping and am washing laundry.  Took the trail and lots of trees down back there too and extremely wet.  It rained non stop all day with 60 mph winds.   Today it's calm and partly cloudy.

I am making plans finally now to see my newest grandson in CO.  Logan is getting his boarding shot so we can board him ( we have nobody to take him as everyone works full time) I hate to do it but I have no choice.   Probably go for about 6 days and I've shared with you all how afraid I am to fly but if I don't I'll never see him.  It wouldn't be so bad if we could just go straight through but we leave from here in a very small jet, and I mean small, my knees feel like they are up in my chest and I hate it but otherwise we have to drive 7 hours to a larger airport and then would have to drive all the way back home again.

I used to do routines in my classes to Monster Mash and Ghostbusters, I'd dress up too for the class, it was really fun.

Well game 1 is done, hopping for an Astro win tonight with my former Detroit pitcher taking the hill.

I received my DB faux fur throw from the TSV and I love it, did I already tell you guys that.  I may get another.  Also I received both sets of sheets, the Velvet loft ones and the fleece.   I slept on the Velvet loft ones last night, very very nice.   I have the gray in the wash now, ( fleece ones).

Waving to everyone!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper Wow, you had a whopper or a storm.  What is going on with the weather??  That's very sad about the missing wave watchers.  Lake gitchegumee never gives up her dead.

I hear ya on the puddle jumpers.....I took one once from Milwaukee to GR.  It would've been fine except for the thunderstorm.  The seats were hard as a rock too....

I hope this is the last day of heat...ughhhhh.

Did 3.3mi/41 min on the treadmill.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!
