@bopper, the photo you inserted is a perfect example of why fall colors are my favorite. The mix of dark greens with burnt yellows and oranges and reddish hues is spectacular. These are also the hues which best compliment my skintone and haircolor, so I tend to lean toward this palette in clothing and makeup.
Since I consider gardening to have an exercise benefit, that is one thing which fall removes from my daily routine. I still have a month left to piddle around, but it's not daily, nor are there the number of tasks (which are the activity) to do this late in the season. The big physical burn of fall is the final raking, removing the annuals, and winterizing the perennials. As for regular gym type exercise, I don't change anything. I'm primarily a water exercise person and use an indoor pool year round. I also practice Pilates and participate in Zumba classes regularly both of which I do year round.

Wow, I can't believe it's October! Agree, beautiful photo!
Speaking of beautiful, our weather is amazing! We're supposed to be in the 30's tonight! Yesterday I went hiking by myself(I have a Friday morning hiking gf but she had to go to Ohio) and it was in the low 40's. I felt so invigorated, I ended up doing a trail run and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also hiked with some man for a couple of miles...lol. We had the nicest conversation and he showed me where a trail was that I didn't know how to get on.
It was a beautiful morning, stars were sparkling again, I love being up and out before most people are even out of bed. It's so peaceful to me.
I found a new groomer yesterday that I really like...a lot. Close to our new house too. Lucy thought she was the cat's meow and posed for a few photos. She knew she was looking good...lol!
Going to do some yoga now then we're going for another trail run and doing some hiking. Wanted to hit the climbing gym but have too many other things to do.
I'm afraid to tell everyone about our new lifestyle change, you'll think we're nuts...and you'd be right but not because of this...lol! Anyway, we may be going off what many would perceive as the "deep end" as far as food goes. It's going to take some getting used to, and is even more difficult given our current living conditions, but the kids said they'd do some of it with us. DH was surprised the bone broth tasted so good so the kids said they'd try it. I never thought I'd be making my own Kefir.
Hope you all have a great weekend whether it be relaxing or hittin' it hard, there's a time and a place for both. So they say.

Happy Sunday Funday, we've been busy piling our wood for winter, that's a good workout and gets your HR up. I filled the wheelbarrow and wheeled into the garage and hubby took out the pieces 1 at a time and piled into our garage. He's being careful not to over do it so I did the "big work" hahah...almost can see the end of the pile so we're getting there. We love a wood fire in the winter although it's a lot of work, splitting it and piling it. Now taking a Lions break and lunch.
Trixx glad you liked the picture, it's my favorite time of year and welcome! We have tons of pine needles to rake up too and leaves that will be falling, so its work for sure.
Lucy glad your having cool weather, I know how you love it cold. Thanks for the info on the Dansko shoes, will have to look. I've heard of bone broth, and also knew you can make your own Kefer, that' s a proccess also but I'm glad your doing all this for your health.
Why does a fit bit not record activity sometimes? 2 hours of wheelbarrowing wood and stacking and it shows no activity. I manually logged it also and it gave me 0 activity points. I know you have to have your HR in a moderate to hard zone and mine was moderate and it still didn't give me anything. Just curious. I have the "One" fitbit.
Hubby wants apple crisp, I digress. We are on a healthy eating plan also because of his heart attack and I know we "both" would eat the entire pan.
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Monday, Monday..so good to me...now I'll have that song stuck in my head all day. Horrible about the shooting, hate to even look at the news anymore, it either depresses you or makes you angry.
After a non-stop, busy weekend, we spent the late afternoon/evening in the ER vet with Lucy. She fell and we thought she dislocated her hip but the ER vet thinks it's her knee(not kneecap as is common in tiny dogs, hers is very strong). But...they can't hold her down for x-rays and would have had to sedate her. Rest and NSAID and follow-up with our vet.
Where is everyone, bopper you were the only other one to post this weekend..you okay Msfoxxie, you usually post daily? You know we've always followed a healthy eating plan, but this is healthy eating on steroids...lol. I won't even be shopping at normal grocery stores anymore, we've gone "off the grid" so to speak. We did eat at a Farm-To-Table restaurant after church yesterday that was delicious so we know we have one local place we can go out to eat at, I will miss eating out. That will probably be it unless we go to the city. It's a lot of work and prep. I have a farmer for our meat, milk, honey, eggs, and some veggies, the rest will be a local health-food store or there is a Whole Foods that carries some things but that's a day-trip. I wish I ate red meat but I don't so that limits me even more...red meat bone-broth is even healthier than chicken.
I'll do a quick run this morning then have my 30-minute floor class and the 1-hour pilates class today then have to drive to Pittsburgh airport to meet DH to get my ID card. DH is officially retired as of yesterday. Supposed to give blood and hit the nature store but not sure I'll be able to as that will be too long for dogs in kennel. Have house stuff, etc., all week long but I can only do one thing at a time so I'm trying not to let myself get overwhelmed. It will be one of the craziest weeks as they're trying to finish most of the house so the appraiser can come through soon.
Hope everyone has a great week, I know I'll be MIA from here so hope everyone stays healthy and can enjoy what it is you enjoy doing!

Good morning, everyone. @Iluvlucy, I forgot to post, lol. I realized yesterday afternoon that I hadn't posted, then forgot again.....the mind is the first to go, lol. I hope Lucy gets better.
@bopper, if I end up making Apple Crisp, I'm going to blame you. Easier to do, lol. Fall is my favorite time of year, too. Summer is usually hot and humid, weather cold and snowy and here in the Midwest spring is cold until mid May. Then suddenly hot. I love the cool nights of the fall.
This was one of my sleepless nights so I've been hearing the tragic Las Vegas news since about 2am and the death count is over 50 now. Why, why, why?
Senior cardio along with Strength and Body this morning. Don't think I'll do track walking today. My feet aren't feeling great this morning.
Have a good day.

What a sad beginning to a new week. 'nuf said.
Lucy, I hope Lucy is ok. I enjoyed reading your updates.
I did my cardio workouts this weekend, will do one today.
Gosh, I have no news. And that's good news in my book.
Have a good day, everyone.

Just peeking in to say hi. I am out at one of our power plants today and omg--it is so cold. The wind is blowing outside and it is just bitter. I was wearing shorts yesterday. The conference room I am in gets colder as the day goes on, so I am literally counting the minutes until I go home (which is about 75 if I stay until 2:30). I don't know if I will make it much past 2 because I am freezing. I still have one sweat shirt to put on. I have a long sleeved tshirt (Target's new line--a new day) and a cuddle duds cardigan.
No workout for me today unless I do something when I go home. I'll definitely need my parka to walk my dogs. I think my little Jack Russell, Lexi, is losing her vision. She's pretty old, maybe 11 or 12 and yesterday, when we went on our afternoon walk, she didn't want to cross the street. When I was giving her a cookie, it was like she was trying to find it with her nose, rather than her eyes. It makes me sad. She was an owner relinquish and I think she is just the sweetest dog.
See you all tomorrow.

Hey all, I think we are all overwhelmed at what has happened today, so I also will leave it at that.
I have been raking pine needles, so many and I go inside and in an hour there are more falling, it's endless. Took 2 dog walks and am making dinner now. It's a lovely day here, 70 outside, pretty unusual for us.
Dr. Kelli it's cold here, my son told me. I think your getting the weather we should be getting. He thinks skiing in the mountains will be soon. I am sorry about your Jack Russell. We had one that lived to be 15 and he was blind and deaf, so hard to know how to help them.
Lucy hope your busy week goes good for you, try and keep us posted on Lucy, poor little girl, I hope she heals up okay. We hurt when they hurt.
Nomless you are right no news is indeed good news! I don't have much either.
foxxie I've forgotten too, I think about it and then it's gone Hahah
Waving to all, better get dinner started here. Have a good night!

Good morning fellow posters. While some of you are cold, we had beautiful weather yesterday and will continue today.
I'm gonna have to stop watching so much news. It's taking over my peace of mind. Sometimes it's best to just go blank for a few days .... maybe.
Today, it's Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and Zumba. I hope we all get through the day.
