Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

[ Edited ]

Sorry Laura, just saw your question about the Echo...I'm lucky to make it here once a day.  It was a pre-sale, I'm sure you've seen it by now!  I can't wait to ask the weather and to have it play songs without touching anything!   Cool about the filming with your sister and her children.

Thanks bopper...I keep forgetting to say that and think it every time.  I still don't like this "new" format.  I can't remember what I just read and it's hard replying...especially when you had a bad night's sleep and can't think straight!  I fed Kit, Lucy's food this morning.

nomless..."I'm" disappointed!  I know "you" must be!  Darn it...I know it means something better is coming but when you really want it, it's still takes the wind out of your sails at the moment.  Sounded like a perfect match.

Well, I never thought I'd say this, but yesterday's Barre class was a beast!  LOL!  We did 5 minutes straight of push-ups, regular and tri-ceps...enough 1-legged squats that my thighs are sore today and were shaking like crazy yesterday, people were moaning and taking breaks...and my abs are sore as we did some really good ab exercises.  I also did the treadmill and upper-body weights so I'm sore from my neck down to my knees!

There were 2 new girls in there and they were hysterical, 1 in particular!  She was moaning, sighing, saying "Are you kidding me"??!!!, "NO WAY"!, "I'm done, I'm leaving", "never again", etc., she was a riot.  One of the new ladies is going to try ATTACK with me tomorrow then we'll do Barre again.

Friday I'm walking with my new friend I met because of Lucy.  Oh, nomless, yes, we have a carrier(over the shoulder) but she wants to walk.  We were saying we'll bring it on the hike to Great Falls though because it's a 16-mile hike round-trip.

Okay...hope I didn't miss anyone.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@nomless  I am so sorry but that just means the right job is still out there for you.  And you never know, the hire could fall though or not last and you get that call anyway.  Smiley Happy

@Iluvlucy  Thanks!  I finally did find it on the home page and that's an outstanding price!  Google actually just announced their version yesterday that will be available in November and I am waiting for that one.  It syncs to Chromecast and my new phone is a new Nexus.  I love Google so it makes more sense for me to wait and keep it in the family.  Amazon keeps pushing me further and further away because I won't buy into their infrastructure (too expensive) or be a Prime member so Google makes more sense for me.

No workout for me today. I am very stressed lately (hate to say that with the bigger problems here) so it's a self care day for me.

New life re: the job!  This morning I emailed the interviewers thanking them for considering me, I hope the new hire works out well, I'm disappointed, please keep me in mind for other openings.

I got an email back - they just found out a library aide position is opening up (as opposed to previous clerk job). If I'm interested, please call. I did, of course. She was so excited to hear from me, she understood how disappointed I was because my enthusiasm came through well during the interview, it was a hard decision and I was one of the finalists. She thinks this would be a good fit, too and is thrilled I want to interview for this job, too. So all is not lost. Interview is Friday. The pay is lower, but that's ok.

😀

ETA: No workout for me today. I had a class this morning, and now have to go to the store for food - shelves are bare here. And, I'm too excited to calm down and work out!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, its another warm day here, windy too.  I just walked Logan on the trail...didn't do much else.  Had a chiropractor appt. this morning and didn't make it to the hawk release.  Chiropractor was running behind and that set me back.  Thats okay though I saw the snowy owls and that was super cool.

Nomless so sorry about that job, darn it.  I was certain you would get it but now this comes along...hmmmmm sounds really good for you.  Please let us know and praying your interview goes really well.

That Echo looks really cool,,,of course I don't "need" it  Hahaha  but most everything I order I don't need!   How fun though to just talk to it and away it goes!

We went to the Kraft Hockeyville game last night.  The first NHL game to be played in our town since we won the bidding with an over abundance of hockey fans here so it was super cool to see that in our own ice rink.  Fan support was outstanding and they really did out town proud with all the history they talked about before the game.  It was packed in there and the place was rocking.

Was invited to my neighbors tonight for a Bible type group, my first time, but since I"m still blowing my nose I declined but then she says to me that she had a super sore throat, used the term sword like meaning her throat is really bad and she's still having people over........Sorry but that's rude....totally changed the way I feel now about future meetings over there.  Apparently she doesn't think before hand that she is exposing everyone coming over.   I would NEVER do that.  It's exactly why I stay away from close gatherings in winter, call me a germaphobic, I don't care...  Don't want any part of it.

Any hooooo,,,,time to do some things here this afternoon.  Have a great day everyone!

@nomless  Excellent!!  And you can off the one who got your real jobat some point and move right on up.  Smiley Wink

Strange they want to interview you again unless it's a different set of people.  I know you'll be just as impressive!   So happy I'm dancing for you.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@Laura14, for this job, I have to take a test to demonstrate I can order things correctly both numerically and alphabetically. That's the point of the second interview.  I hope I will talk with the same group of people, but if not, I can so my spiel again.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@nomless  That makes sense.  Warm up the old ABC song then and maybe bring your weights to count reps for them.  Smiley Wink

This sounds a lot like what I did.  I loved it.  If you want to impress them, you may already know if you are a library goer but the Dewey decimal system hasn't changed.  You can tell where to put the non-fiction books by subject and not have to look at the tiny numbers until you get to the shelf.  Makes you faster.

Computer, Spiritual, Religion  000s-200s

Social/Business  300s-400s

Cooking/Health  500s-600s

Crafts/Special Interests/Sports 700s

Biographies/History 800s-900s

That's off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure that's about right.  When they took the card catalogs away, I was golden because for some reason dewey is still my friend.  Smiley Happy

@Laura14, yep, I memorized the 10 main levels of Dewey for the first interview. I'd better review it. 😂

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Something just popped into my head that I wanted to ask Laura about...and I see the DDS talk and wonder "whaaa???"...then I read the update from nomless!!  Yahoo!!!  Sounds like this may be thee one!  That's great news...praying it goes well.

Laura...did you say you did Pound before?  Is it worth trying?  I would have to pay extra for this but do get a free class to see if I like it.

Back to vet with Kit again this afternoon...ugh...STILL has some bad cells in her urine but it's going down.  So ANOTHER round of the Clavamox and ANOTHER $200!  They crack up at her...the vet and tech said they laid her down on her back for an ultra-sound and she just laid there belly-up like she didn't have a care in the world.  They said other cats it's a fight to hold them down...this one looked like she was relaxing in a recliner watching Animal Planet...haha!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy, sorry you have to spend more $$ and give Kit more meds. That's funny that she relaxes during the ultra-sound and goes with the flow.

Just heard back from the manager that this new job is 20 hours a week, a bit more than the other one, but that's ok. It will be 5 hours 4 days a week. No early hours though; that's nice.

Thanks, Lucy. Fingers crossed!
