Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy Yes! I loved Pound when my gym started it but lately I'm so so about it. Definitely take the free class. I think a big part of my problem is if I don't like the music, I struggle. And I don't care for my teacher's taste lately.

Pound is really big on working legs, abs and butt so if that's what you are going for, thumbs up! Oh and it will give you cardio too on some of the tracks. It's not all strength and toning.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Maybe I'll at least try it, really don't want to pay extra on top of the gym.  I found her card again yesterday(she teaches Pound and Pilates) so I may call and get the pricing.

Remember where dh and I went rock-climbing and hiking...Great Falls?  They had a Clown sighting there...ugh!  They creep me out!  The guy called 911 but phones don't work out there so called when he could...meanwhile clown went off into the woods and he said he took the roads home because he was so creeped out.  We can scratch that off Saturday's "to-do" list!

DH has a long weekend, sure would be nice not to have these biopsy results hanging over our heads.  Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I won't go to Australia with him....this bursitis and sciatica are terrible after a 4-hour car ride, I can't fly for 2 days.  No.way.

Today is my intense cardio class and Barre again.  Yesterday I did 11 in the morning then 3 again last night.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Did my Ride and Power today.  I'm getting real good at my new weight normals so high five for me.  Smiley Happy

@Iluvlucy  Completely understand and I'm with you.  If I'm already paying dues why would I pay extra for anything?  Don't get that.  I wouldn't join a gym my sister taught at for the longest time because they made you pay for the classes.  The excuse was they just bought all new equipment.  Um.....since when does anyone but a car dealership make you pay an additional fee to have them provide their services to you?  Ridiculous!

And I don't blame you on an airplane trip like that.  I have a hard enough time cross country.  Two days in an confined space is not my thing either.  I get antsy at two hours.

Might go and do Ride tomorrow morning so I can have my weekend completely free.  Looks like, at this point, we are just going to get a breeze from the hurricane and it's going to be far enough off the coast not to catch us in north GA.  Smiley Sad  Could have really used some rain.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, it's another nice day here, about 67 right now, the leaves are very slow to change this year.  I think tomorrow the cool air is moving in and the rain but I"m so thankful we don't get hurricanes.  We can handle snow and blizzards but not hurricanes.  I am praying everyone in this storm is safe!

I did treadmill this morning and Total Gym and then took Logan after lunch to the trail.  It's very wet back there, so much rain this year.

Nomless I sure hope you hear about the job!  Hard waiting too.

Iluvlucy those clown sightings are so creepy, and it's not one bit funny and I'm worried about Halloween now, and kids...Be careful on the trails.

I hope you hear about the biopsies before the weekend, waiting for news like this is so hard!

Laura- your classes sound good!  Not paying extra though!

Going back outside to clean out some plants...Have a great rest of the day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Creepy clowns....yikes. I'd stay away, too. I wonder what he'said up to?

Bopper, my secomd interview is tomorrow afternoon. That means I'll have to wait all weekend for a decision. I don't know how many they will interview for this job. I hope it's not many...less competition.

I did my workout. It felt good. Yesterday was a rest day, and I always do better after a rest day.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Happy to see Matthew is a Cat 3 now...still going to cause some damage.  So many already without power.  That was agony for me, I always showered and washed my hair good right before it hit.

Today's the day nomless!  I prayed this is the one!

I'm really loving Barre class(it burns!)...who knew?  I started class off facing the opposite direction of everyone else and didn't notice!  The instructor sang the Sesame Street song "which one of these is not like the other" and we all had a good laugh...yuk, yuk.  In my defense, I just finished Attack and was moving fast to get there(different studios) and get a spot at the bar...as it was, I didn't get the size hand-weights I wanted.

The instructor said she taught the night before at another gym and when she said it was time to get down and do push-ups, they all stared at her and said they've never done push-ups ever before in Barre class.  She was shocked...goes to show you how different they can all be depending upon instructor, gym, etc.  I like this one because it's more strength than dance style moves.

DS doesn't think the path report will be back today...he said "maybe" today because it's usually 10 to 14 days.

Meeting a new friend at 8:30 to walk...that may be it for me today because I'm still sore, or sore again....I don't even know by this point.  Waving to everyone!  Where are our new ladies??  MickD?? Judy?

LOL, Patty about facing the wrong way. Brilliant that the instructor sang the song.

Thanks for your prayers and support. I feel good about it, top.

I'm doing breakfast with a friend this morning, then interview this afternoon so I probably won't get a workout in.

Oh, that reminds me. A cool thing about this job is I would be up and moving about most of the time rather than behind a desk, so it would be a workout in a way. Mild sustained activity would be very good for me physically.

@nomless  GOOD LUCK!!  Heart

@Iluvlucy  You are a workout fiend.  I am so in awe of everything you do every day.

My Ride class didn't happen.  I woke up at 1am and was up until about 3am until I finally went back to bed and the 5:45am class was out of the question. I am probably going to mow my lawn hopefully for the very last time tonight (YAY!!) so that will be my workout for the day.

This time I did nail it. I got the job. Whew - what a ride to get here. Pay is much lower than other job, but, oh well. There will be opportunity to move up as time goes by. Schedule is not ideal, but I felt comfortable telling her I was ok with it for now, but would like to work toward a different schedule later. It seemed better to being that up now rather than after starting the job. I don't want to start out as a complainer....better to do my complaining now, I felt. She was totally ok with it. I've met two of the people I'll be working with - they seem terrific, and they are  excited I took the job. Doing work I like with people I like bodes well that this will be a job I will enjoy. Yay!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!

Nomless - so glad you got a job that you will enjoy.  Congratulations!

Laura - don't you live in Georgia?  Are you away from the coast and Hurricane Matthew?

Lucy - saw in one of your posts you are waiting for biopsy reports?  I'll keep you in  my thoughts and prayers for a good result.

Sounds like everyone is keeping up with their workouts.  I had wanted to start again after I returned from my trip and had given myself time to get back to work and back on California time.  However, I just haven't felt very good since I got back and thought I was fighting off a cold but, I think, its more allergies than a cold.  I have a bad time with allergies all year long but esp. around March/April and November.  This year, though around here leaves started changing in September - which never happens! -  and I'm thinking what used to be my bad time in November has this year become October.   My allergies can feel like a bad cold coming on so sometimes it's hard for me to tell.  I get the congested head, runny nose, sore, scratchy "fuzzy" feeling throat, coughing, headache, achy - sounds like a cold right?  But, it'll just turn out to be a bad allergy attack.  This morning I woke up and had absolutely no energy, couldn't even bring myself to shower so stayed home thinking the "cold" had finally hit.  But I don't think it was that at all.  Ugh.  It's so hard for me to tell.

Anyway, because of feeling like this so much of the time the last couple weeks, I haven't started working out again.  I'm hoping soon I will be able to start - even if its a slow return.  The good thing in all this - my hip and back aren't bothering me!  YEA!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
