Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, Happy Sunday Funday!  Well it was a nice day here, mid 60's..watched my Lions/ Tigers/ & Bears  Oh MY!   Took a short color ride, still not peak here, next weekend should be good and I sure hope it's nice out.

Took Logan on the trail and that's about it, hack, hack, cough, cough....but I"m getting better day by day.

Supposed to be an above normal week for temps this week too, so we'll see.  I bet when it changes it will really change.  Wedding is getting close!!!!  Starting to make my list so I don't forget what to pack.

Enjoy your evening everyone!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

I bought a jump rope over the weekend and did my 7 minutes of daily activity that Dr. Oz said to do.  I followed it up with some Body Gym and the Lo Bak and stretching as recovery.

I did hike on Saturday and that was the most unpleasant experience I've had in a while.  I went around 3:30pm to avoid everyone and there were people aggravating me everywhere!  Even up my back when I walked into the wooded trail which is where I go to avoid everyone.  I finally got rid of them a little ways in but I don't want to hear about their personal problems in my ear while I am trying to enjoy nature.

Yes, I was in a very selfish mood.  Then, with all the squirrels rustling the leaves and reading my sister's new horrow film script the day before, I was a little unsettled when I finally got the woods to myself.  Imagine a cat up a tree and that was pretty much me on Saturday.

The post office actually delivered my Amazon order on Sunday.  I had no idea they did that!  So I get my new phone finally and Tmobile won't let me switch to it without doing a new plan.  Say what?

So I am back at work since I might as well with aggravation everywhere, at least here I get paid for it.

Hope everyone is off to a great week!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, It's Monday again!  It was a chilly 44 when I got up at 7.  I walked about 9:30 and it was up to 47 but it actually felt warmer once I got moving.  Then came home, took Logan and started to do more closet arranging.  Putting summer stuff away and bringing out the Fall/Winter.

Laura sorry you had a somewhat irritating hike on the trails, I understand the need for quiet and peace.  I hope your next adventure there is better for you.

It's so nice right now 66 and sunny.  I put the flowers from my planters on the deck into my garden.  I usually am able to use some of them again in the Spring, cleaned the rest of the tomatos and peppers off the plants.  Some will have to ripen inside as they are still green but I got a lot of peppers and tomatos this summer.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Laura, I'm like you...I want quiet during workouts/walks. Your sister writes film Scripts? Fun.

Daisy, good job!

Bopper, oh, dear, now I can't remember what you posted. I hope you're feeling better.

Today, I did my workout, laundry, paid bills (ugh), and some reading. Still no word about the job. I'm surprised a decision is slow in coming. Right now, my cats are trying to tell me it's time for dinner, but they're a little early. They don't want to wait 25 more minutes, but I do.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Was checking in to see if you heard anything yet nomless....hopefully by the end of the week...seems to take longer these days.  I have a cat purring in my ear right now.

MickD...how are things this week...hopefully better?  I know how you feel...like my gf said when we were walking "You're only as happy as your unhappiest child"...so true.  Waiting for ds's biopsy results isn't easy.  It's one thing when they're yours or a parents, but your child is a different ballgame.

Laura...that's part of the point to being in the woods - peace and quiet!  My good friend that hikes all the time calls it Vitamin N...nature does wonders for the soul.  She did some big Alaskan adventures before she moved...climbed a glacier too.

bopper...I just typed a paragraph to you and hit a button and the entire thing disappeared...not sure what I hit when I do that?!  At least the entire thing didn't go...grrr.  Nice here too, I spent a good portion of the day outside even with the gym and my earrands.  Countdown is under way, you're getting close!

Hi Daisy!!

Yesterday was a blur, I went from morning until night.  I found the Goodwill for clothes donations I had from cleaning out my closets....they took the other two bin sights away...not sure why.  Ran/walked Lucy, hit the gym, ran errands and Marshall's, walked and biked most of the afternoon in between cleaning and laundry, then again last night...Lucy was in heaven.

I saw some improvement yesterday...I held my "camel pose" better than most...both hands too.  The pilates was rather challenging!  But good, there was a point where she said "30 more seconds" and I had to do some mind over matter to get through it.  We held chair pose, into chair pose on your tip-toes, then to 1 leg for a while, then to the other leg for a while, back to regular on your toes for the duration...without any break.  I did weights after class and felt like I didn't have to do much as I already had a good leg work-out and could feel it.

HIIT at 8 then not sure.  Have a great day everyone!

p.s.  I ordered the Echo TSV, a couple of my gf's have it and love it.

@Iluvlucy  What Echo TSV?  I didn't get that!  I want one!!  Heart to you and your family

@nomless  My sister and my nieces are very involved in the tv/movie production in and around Atlanta.  It's become a mini-Hollywood around here.  My nieces make almost as much as I do with a full time job every year and they are not even out of elementary school yet. It's enough to make you cry.  Actors!

@Daisy Sunflower  You go girl!!  Walk those legs!

@bopper  I really want your weather.  I have my new sheets and new sweaters all ready and it's still 80 plus around here.

Did my Pound and Power this morning.  Still kept up the weight and I'm rocking it!  Made the teacher laugh when she asked me what I thought of the new routine and I told her like it was.  Big thumbs down but I'm still showing up and I know she'll stop teaching it in a few weeks and we'll go back to better music and routines.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, We're on the above normal temps again, but it looks like rain and said it may.  Tomorrow and Thursday, Friday too.  Tomorrow I may go and watch our Raptor Center release a hawk.  Remember when I went to the Snowy Owl one?   I love watching those majestic birds.  I am thinking I'll cancel my Chiro because if I have to wait there I"ll miss getting home in time.  I can walk to where they are releasing it from my house so that's nice.  Hoping the rain holds off.

Iluvlucy I am praying DS's results come back alright!  So hard waiting and worrying and as much as you try and not woryy and give it to him, you still do.  Glad Lucy had fun yesterday being outside and you.  Beautiful here too.

Nomless I sure hope by the end of this week you  hear something and I hope and pray it's the something you want to hear!  Good job on the workouts.

Daisy great job getting those steps in!  Who Hooooooooo

Laura agree, the woods is where I find my peace, I don't want to be talking or listening to someone talk.

Guess I better start some laundry, make it a great day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Lucy, you're making good progress with yoga...and so quickly. You're working your already strong muscles in different ways. Nice job.

Bopper, it would be fun to see the release tomorrow. I hope it works out.

Laura, I jad no idea Atlanta is a film center. What fun for those involved. Cool!

I did some cleanong this morning then did an extra long workout. I'm supposed to go put tonight, but it's rainy now (nice) and might be stormy this evening. Haven't decided if I'll go or cancel. Don't want my car to get hailed on.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

I just got an email telling me I didn't get the job. Oh, darn. I'm really surprised, and yes, I'm disappointed. Oh, well, maybe next time. Thanks for all your good wishes and encouragement the past couple of weeks...much appreciated!
