Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

[ Edited ]

Good morning!  So nice to read so many emails and hear what everyone was up to over the weekend.  Hi @tony14smoke  so good to see you posting!

My cat does not take change well and the time change has thrown him a loop!  I can hold him off ok in the evening for his feeding but that boy is waking me up at 4AM to be fed!  So tough love this morning and he had to wait until my alarm went off.  Of course, he was meowing almost the whole time - not real loud but enough to keep me awake - so I never did go back to sleep but I pretended I was sleeping.  Hopefully it won't take him long to get used to the change.

I was going to get up and do some upper body work with the Body Gym, figured I could sit in a chair and do that and was going to do some floor ab work but I couldn't sleep last night - not the cat's fault - until after 1:30.  Don't know what I was so anxious about.  By the time I woke up this morning I just felt so out of it.  Hoping for better tomorrow.

@bopper your granddaughter sounds so adorable.  Love playing with little ones, their imagination goes all over the place.  My daughter and her husband are not able to have children, they tried, but it just didn't happen and, while I never said anything to them, I am so disappointed because I was very much looking forward to being a Nana.  Enjoy your little ones.

Didn't do much yesterday.  It is so warm here in the Bay Area.  Its not like Fall at all and I'm so upset.  I love the Fall weather but we're having more summer-like weather.

Better get back to work.  Hoping everyone has a good day!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

[ Edited ]

Well, I went for my two morning classes today and so did Pigpen.  I was fine during Pound but late into Power it was too much downwind again and it's not okay.  She was further away this time but it was not enough.

I'll be moving on Thursday to a different area if I see them set up near me again.  It ticks me off that someone can't do a quick wipe like we all do to be considerate or else move themselves into a corner if they want to be that way.  I half wonder if someone said something on the other side which is why they moved this way.

Anyway, the instructor did bands around the leg while we did our booty workouts in Pound.  My legs are pretty tired after four weeks of moving furniture plus keeping up the workouts but I managed.

She also left in the Halloween songs because we only got to do them for a week.  That is why we start early on October.  I felt like saying she might as well do Christmas now so we get our fair share.

Then it was on to Power.  I have been trying very hard to get sick which I hardly ever do over the past month but I've literally been telling myself, too busy.  No time for it.  Well, I may finally be losing the battle.  I've been running a fever for a while and now today it's pretty up there.  I wanted to do my extra weight again but I just couldn't.  We are back to the disco tracks from Spring.  Studio 54 here we come again.

I almost hit my 10,000 steps yesterday.  I think it was 9000 something.  I meant to hit it before bed but totally collapsed and forgot.

Anyway, I am back at work and ready to go run some errands, vote, and finish it all out by 5pm.  Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, took a day off from a regular workout but have over 15,000 steps anyways.  Got groceries and did a dog walk and then got my 91 year old dad and we went on the bike path by the lake and walked for an hour.  He's quite wobbly and his sight is very very bad but we did 2 miles, pretty good for his age don't you think.

Made a chicken stir fry for dinner and just watching the news and how the polls did today.

Tony so good to see you and yes please come post more often, you don't have to have much to say if you don't want to, I often feel I repeat everything but nobody cares or judges you for that, we just like to visit here...   I like that you live in a little blurb and that it's country side.

They are saying snow for Wednesday and Thursday nights,  uggggggggg   not ready!!!  Highs in the 20's....

Have a good night everybody!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hit my 10,000 steps again yesterday.

Moved all of my kitchen stuff and food down and made many trips with bins.  I look like I am ready for nuclear war with about 7 cans of beans and four jars of peanut butter.  Don't all clamor for a dinner invitation just yet.

I also wrapped all of my Christmas gifts for the kids and my mom's birthday gift.  I am about done except for a birthday gift for my sister and gift card for my teen nephew.

I am taking the day off except for moving down the refrigerator stuff.  I also need to make a run to Walmart for some more storage bins.  Just when you think you are about done, you're not.

@bopper  I think that's fantastic and great for your dad.  Heart

My mother is probably doing another surprise visit this weekend because she just can't stand to have her house just sitting and waiting to be redecorated.  I just want one weekend of rest and I'm just not going to get it.

Have a great Wednesday all!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Good morning, all!

@Laura14, moving is the pits--even if it is moving stuff from one part of the house to another.

Yesterday, I did my small group, but jumped into the new Zumba class for the last 15 minutes.  The instructor literally mouths the words of the songs she is teaching and she is a 'whooer', meaning every few minutes, she screams 'WHOOOOO".  I do not like whooers--it reminds me of Denise Austin who did that non-stop in her tapes.  I do not do that--maybe people like that?  I do not like it.

Today is yoga, and I have an eye doctor appointment this afternoon.  I think this year they have to dilate my eyes, which is another thing I do not like.

Hope you all have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone!  Wow, I did not know that I didn’t post yesterday!  I wasn’t going to post today since it’s my volunteer day and I probably won’t workout but once I looked on here and saw the omission...well, here I am.

And I’m going to brag, lol.  Yesterday I did an intense Body & Sculpt class, Flexibility, and then my Zumba class.  Normally, that brings me to about 14,000 steps depending on how much movement I do before I leave the house in the morning and how rigorously the instructor works us.  Riley, who does the Sculpt class and the Zumba class tried to kill us, lol.  We had to remind him that we are seniors, 😂.  Apparently, he didn’t care.  He said, “hey, I’m 57 myself.  Deal with it”.   (He was kidding).   I never would have known that the energizer bunny was that old.  Anyway, I still had energy to do some steps that evening when I got home.  I ended up with 20,187!  I need that break today, lol.  (I’m going to say something racy....I’ve heard it said more than once that he must be great in the bedroom).  😳.  I don’t think it was me, I can’t remember, 😂.  Had to be one of the other ladies.

I hope everyone has a great day.  If the sun isn’t out, make your own shining moment.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Happy Wednesday,  I did Total Gym Supreme workout today, it's like a pyramid workout where she counts you down from 10, so you do a set of 10 pullups, then 9 and then 8 and so forth, then chin ups, and we go from squats, to 1 legged squats, switch legs and do it on the other leg, and we do 3 sets.  I finished with extra abs.

@Mmsfoxxie you made me laugh about that comment about the bedroom...Hahah  You had a brilliant day and crushed your step goal!  Wooza!

@DrKelli I don't like whooers either.  I taught classes and never did that, it's irritating.  My hubby who goes to the Y at 6 am said there is a class in there that is doing that constantly and they are in a room next to the weight equipment with the door shut, but glass windows and he said the music is so loud and all you hear is her yelling Wooo....

@Laura14 You don't get to rest much do you.  I bet your place is looking beautiful and cozy though.  I could go so crazy with decorating if money wasn't an object.  I just love cozy things, and I'm on too many websites, yes I own it!  LOL...So mom is coming.... Smiley Wink

@JudyL glad to hear your feet are better, good luck with your cataract surgery.  Have you used your bodygym again then?

@tony14smoke Hey girl, lets get crackin.....you know I had to say that right Smiley Wink

I walked Logan after my gym workout.  We have a mass tonight for my BIL who passed away in September so  I"m not walking him again as I curled my hair already and if I have to put a hat on I"ll have flat hair...yes I'm vain.. LOL...no not really but m hair doesn't curl very good, it may go flat even being here in the house by tonight.  I need a good holding hairspray, I don't care if it's stiff and helmet hair either, ideas???

Nomless are you still reading, say hi when you are able, thinking of you...

Peace out dudettes.

@Mmsfoxxie  Wow!  You go girl!

@bopper  Yeah, this time is permanent supposedly again.  I've heard this off and on for ten years now and missed my chance to get the heck away from it all.  Actually no I didn't so we'll see. Now that I've put all this money out and bought all this new stuff, I'd kind of like to get a little bit of wear out of it before I finally say uncle.  I'll say a prayer for your BIL.  Heart.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone,

bopper- thanks for the kick in the britches! It was so nice today that I went for a walk. It is too bad that it’s a fall day and not a spring day.  If you remember, your weather comes to me next and I did not like reading your weather report. (Also - going for a walk is tough because of the girl that was murdered jogging alone. Since I prefer walking alone, it takes an extra thought.)

I have heavy, thick hair- I use mousse to keep if fromgoing flat and then any Level 4 or 5 hairspray.  I’m with you - once the mop is set, I ain’t doing nothing to mess it up!

Laura- like you I have to get CEUs. It is always nice when my hospital offers opportunities for free ones!

I hope you do get to rest. It seems to me that you have been in constant motion for awhile. But I am glad to see some thinks have settled for you.

Msfoxxie- you do get a lot of exercise in. Nice that you have so much opportunity.

Dr.Kelli -  40 hours plus your exercise time is busy. I have worked only 2 -12 hour shifts forever and have no excuse for not working out. So you= busy! And you are so right about those commercials. I am glad that they a really done!

Judy- I hope all goes well.

bopper- see ya in the produce aisle and standing over me with the evil, exercise eye! I guess I’ll pull out some CDs.  Oh, did your son work any Red Sox games? Good times here in Massachusetts!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Good morning everybody.  It was so strange coming home yesterday evening from my volunteer time.  I’m thinking 🤔 wow, it’s really cloudy ⛅️.  Then I realized it was more so the time change making the difference.  By the time I got home, about 20 minutes, it was almost totally dark at 4:45.  Due to my slight cataracts, I try not to drive at night.  (I love ❤️ these cutesy emojis)!

@tony14smoke, Yes I exercise a lot because I make it my job.  But I take my hat off to people like @Laura14 and @DrKelli who have full time jobs and still do it.  And @JudyL when health permits.  Now that’s commitment!   @bopper, how long were you an instructor?  That’s commitment, too.  When I was in my twenties, I did that but during my last years before retirement, working out was the last thing I wanted to do.  Too 💤 tired 😴.

My early morning Zumba day.  Hope I get up and out on time.  Last Thursday, I got there in the middle of the warmup.  I hate being late.

Well, everybody have a good day.  I’m trying my darkest not to think 🤔 about that California shooting as I post.  (I’m not over the one from a couple of weeks ago)!
