Yes, I wonder how soon this story will go from "deliberate slaughter" and "possible terrorism" to "just a horrible accident."

Mr Darrell Brooks didn't just find himself in the middle of a parade.

That image of someone just making an unfortunate wrong turn into a parade route is a lie.

The parade route was blocked off and barricaded.

Put yourself behind the steering wheel. You're facing a blocked off street, and seeing that, instead of taking the detour you think it's best to drive your vehicle through the barricades and barriers.

Now you're facing a Christmas Parade in progress. (This year's theme is "Comfort and Joy".)

Do you turn?

Back up?

Park the vehicle and disappear into the crowd?

  No.

For a while you drive in the gap between watchers on the sidewalk and those parading in the street.

But you see that gap disappears ahead of you.

What will you do next?

According to witnesses you hit the accelerator and just drive through people like a bowling ball hits the pins.

That what happened.

That's what Mr Darrell Brooks did.

Nothing accidental about it.

At this point there are 5 dead and 40 injured.

@x HedgeShe knows this.  You are missing the point of her post.

It occurs to me that the media is being given quite a picture of life in Wisconsin this week.  As a resident, I wish it could be a more positive impression.  Most of us really don't behave so badly.

@deepwaterdotter   It is a nice state with good people.  My sister lived there for several years and I also visited.

It will be interesting to see how the media gins up this story. Mentally disturbed people watch their spin and act out while the " journalist " are safe and secure in the studio. If you think I am only accusing one side? Wrong I can't think of one neutral news organization on mainstream or popular cable stations.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Waiting for the posters from the other thread who determined that if you were not agreeing with them about "murder" and a recent jury decison  it showed "who those posters really are".

You cannot have it both ways.

It is going to take more than thoughts and prayers.

It is going to take all people to join hands and work together to be examples of peace and acceptance-we are all on the same paths in life.

The media needs to be stripped down and rebuilt.

We no longer have reputable journalists.

We have armchair warriors there and in RL.

Instead of just leaving a carbon footprint, leave behind something you have done to make the world a better place.

I hope all will see these tragedies for what they really are and not fall in line with false narratives.

Be the person who can rise above it all and stop accepting gossip as fact, agenda driven reporting, and think for yourself.

I guess my point is that bail shouldn't have been an option.

A lot of bad people  are being released from jail and go out and kill again.

Calif. great for this, especially Los Angeles and San Francisco.
