Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Busy day today. I went 5o the library book sale, got groceries, both times it was raining hard. This afternoon, after the sun came out, I started cleaning up clutter that I'll need to get put of the way when carpet cleaners come on Monday. I try to get as much off the floor as possible thinking it will help them do a better job. Anyway, I should have switched by am and pm tasks...could have avoided everything getting wet, me included.

I did cardio, too. ☺  Good job today, Mick. Hope you feel better.

Foxxie, I haven't tried the Halo stuff. I generally don't like healthy ice cream...maybe I should give it a try.

DrKelli, I hope you have some down time this weekend. Lots of good wishes for the mammo redo.

Hi, Bopper and Laura and Lucy....enjoy your weekend, too.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Happy Saturday everyone, a washout of a day here, consistent rain from the time I was up this morning until now and I checked the radar and more coming, I see yellow and green so some pretty hard rain still on it's way.   Tomorrow supposed to be sunny and 70!! Here 70, hardly sounds believable!

MickD we are watching baseball playoffs, we will flip to the State game at 7:30 though but have to watch the playoffs to see who gets into the World Series.

Glad your feeling better, I was punky for a couple days too.

Nomless want to clean my clutter, I started in the bedroom as I want to paint and overwhelming .   Small house, small closet, small room.....equals too much "stuff"  I don't even feel like sorting it all, feel like dumping into dumpster....can you relate?

Never tried the ice cream either, but foxxie that is expensive.  We had a small turkey with mashed potatos tonight, good night for that in the rain.

Lucy hoping little Lucy is feeling better while she waits to see the Ortho specialist. How is the new food plan going, farm to table?  Our farmers market today was pretty damp, felt bad for those trying to sell their stuff in the rain or under tents.

Have a nice evening ya'all!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning everybody.  Looks like everybody got rain yesterday.  Our real rain waited until last night but during the day was humid and windy.  Today is supposed to be beautiful.

Glad you're recuperating from your illness @MickD.  Now there's probably weakness, huh.  @nomless, I laughed when you said you don't like healthy ice cream.  Calorie wise, I guess it is healthy.  High in protein, too.  Yes, @bopper, it is way too expensive.  Worst than Hagen Daz, my favorite.  That stuff will make you gain weight like nothing else and it's addictive.

WW mtg this morning.  My motivation/incentive  to loose weight is weakening.  I'm eight pounds from goal and most of my clothes fit well.  I'll be surprised if there is a loss on the scale this morning.  I was called skinny this week and two other people mentioned that I looked like I lost some weight.  Felt good.

After my meeting I'll stop by the center and do some walking.  Then the highlight of the day.....dinner out at this really nice restaurant.

Hello to everybody reading these posts.  Have a great day.

I'll try and do this fast so I don't forget...lol...

DrKelli...DH had to do the same thing...was up before 4 one morning to drive to D.C. for a conference, 4-hours one-way. Got home at 9:30 p.m. and worked on proposals for 2 hours, then up at 4:45 next morning for work-out. I had my yearly GYN this week and also need a mammo due to a lump. I'm not really worried about it though, it's probably scar tissue from the mass they removed in 2008. I loved her, thankful to get a good Doc right out of the gate(need all new docs when you move). She eats similar to us and we hit it off right out of the gate, she ended up running late because we talked too long.  She was very interested in my Mast Cell and wanted to see pictures, she couldn't believe how bad I get and almost started crying looking at the photos.

Laura...laughing at your daily dilemmas.  I kept bumping hands with someone in class on Tuesday...I'm self-conscious about it but nothing we could do given the size of the studio and the number of people that were there. We were as spread out as we could be. One of the ladies fell off her exercise ball and hurt her elbow, it was bleeding.

MickD...glad you're feeling better and your foot must be healing if you were able to run again. I know it's been a while. I thought of you when I did Total Gym Friday morning.

bopper...too cute about your gd...lol.  We have rain all day agian today. They sent my gf's husband home from open-heart at 3.5 days...on a Sunday even. They sure move 'em out!  Hope your foot is better.

Msfoxxie...you may surprise yourself with the weight loss. We don't count calories and we don't eat any chemicals(and no dairy right now anyway)...so no Halo for us, but I know it's very popular. Even before doing this extreme way of eating, we didn't eat any artificial sweetners or sugar alcohols. DH is losing too much weight though, we needed a big meal last night(and he needed red meat protein so got grass-fed steak) so went to the local Farm-To-Table restaurant, delicious.

nomless...I got poured on running errands on Thursday.  Every time I had to get out of the van and run in or out of some place, it would open up. And I did some running...lol.  I've been to every Home Depot and Lowe's within a 100-mile radius this week, numerous times. How is your foot doing? Kitties?

Lucy is doing better, thank-you, but trying to keep her still is not an easy task. I just pray she doesn't need surgery, I will freak out. Can't even think about it. Everything is harder with a 4.5 lb dog..anesthesia is trickier too.  Wait and see.

We are hiking this afternoon, rain or shine. We have a list of trails with all varying degrees of difficulty, think we'll stick with a "moderate" today and do a longer one as the rain makes it slippery.  Especially carrying Lucy in her sling...lol. And my bod is sore and tired today, I don't mind sore but I'm worn out after this long, hard week. I've been up by 4:30 almost every day(or earlier) and it's been non-stop until late.  I woke up before 4:30 this morning but I slept pretty soundly so I'm thankful for that!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper I loosely watch the Cubs as we don't always get the coverage here....I was watching the first half on tbs...boohoo they lost yesterday.  Then MSU won! Now Green Bay v Dallas today.  I only follow 3 or 4 teams....too much ....otherwise I'd go crazy!

Foxxie, you have done great with WW. I hope you were satisfied with your weigh in. Foxxie, I laughed too when I wrote "healthy ice cream" ....

Lucy, thanks for asking about my foot. Happy to report It's A-ok! It hasn't hurt since the podiatrist removed the callus, but the skin was still hardened. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the skin is finally normal again,  ice and soft. I notice some days that the bones in my feet hurt. Yikes. Ok now though. I really need to pay attention to how I move while working to avoid overuse. I do hope little Lucy is ok.

Bopper, yes, my place is much like yours....I have too much stuff for the space I have. And I have a very difficult time forcing myself to get rid of stuff. For the  most part, I'm good about keeping things tidy, though. Yesterday I had shipping boxes to get rid of and had to figure out what to do with a couple of boxes that contained stuff from my office at the job I lost 2 years ago!  Today I finished up putting away cat toys and other things and got the vac'ing done. Coco is a bit confused because I moved some of her stuff. She really wants me to put it back where it was, lol. I'll do so.....after the carpet cleaners leave tomorrow.

I did my workout today.  ☺  I plan on doing  nothing the remainder of the day.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning my cyberfriends.  I hope everyone had a restful Sunday.  @Iluvlucy, girl you are one busy lady, lol.  Dealing with Lucy, your family, your move and still find time for exercising!  All of you here find time to try and stay physically fit.  It helps keep me going.  Thank you so much.  It was my reason for joining this group.

Yesterday we went out to dinner to a restaurant that we had went to a couple of months ago with friends.  Unbeknownst to me, this was a type restaurant where you share the food.  Well, I ordered scallops and there were only four on the plate with garnishment.  Three people took one and that left me with only one.  It was the most delicious scallop I had ever eaten.  Later, I told my husband that I wanted to come back and get my own scallops.  So yesterday I was salivating waiting for my scallops.  While we waited for the scallops the French fries were brought out.  Their fries are delicious, comes with a special sauce.  When the scallops came, I couldn't wait to get the first bit.  Hot!  What?  I don't remember them being hot.  There was a sauce on them that I think was mostly on the side before.  My memory of delicious scallops was ruined, lol.  I ate one and brought the rest home.  Won't be going back to get them plain.  My husband said that that was a very expensive memory that I fulfilled, lol.  But if I hadn't went back it would still be a need to be fulfilled.

Senior Cardio class and Fit and Motion class this morning which is a mix of cardio a weight training.  If I get there early, I'll do some walking first.

Have a great day everybody.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning, all!  Y'all should see the snow coming down right now.  I almost slipped in the driveway this morning. (A normal occurance--I fall at least once a winter because I have an extremely steep driveway and once it gets snow on it, I either have to shovel it right then, or go down the lawn to get to my paper).  It was about 70 yesterday and I think we are in the 30s today.  We're supposed to be back up in the 70s by Wednesday.

Today is Quick Fit, if I walk the 6 blocks to the gym.  It is super wet snow and I did bring an umbrella.  I need to practice some new Zumba and La Blast songs tonight.

One month from today, my mom, sister and I will be going on a 5 day cruise to Cabo and back. I can't wait.  Next week, I'm headed to south of Fresno to one of our plants. Not nearly as fun.

I really didn't do anything this weekend except take the dogs to the dog park.  Kevin was being super hilarious yesterday.  It's almost like he knows we're laughing at him, so he tries extra hard to entertain us.

I hope you all have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, it's a 60 degree day here and sunny with beautiful colored leaves.

Dr.Kelli, yes my son sent me pictures of his yard, wow...better there than here hahah.  At least there you can have it for 1 day and it goes, here we have it for over 6 months!  Be careful not to fall.  It's that greasy slushy stuff and that is slippery.

Walked this morning early and then had a lunch date with a childhood friend who moved away but loves to visit here as it's so pretty and especially this time of year.   We had so much fun talking about old times.  She tries to come home at least once a year and we get together.

Lucy praying your lump is nothing and exactly like you said it could be from the previous mass that was removed.  Please know you and Little Lucy are in my prayers.

I have baseball on now, but need to take Logan out.  Waiting on the neighbor to get back, she went the way I normally go and her dogs ( 2 labs) are not on their leashes so I don't want to go until I see her get back.  Logan has a fit, and I do keep him leashed.

My dad said leave pickup is soon, ( here this city pickup crews, the leaves are still on the trees, we can't go by the calendar)  LOL

Enjoy the day everyone!
