Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning Ladies.  I hope that everyone is well.  We had a beautiful day here yesterday, in the 70s with lots of sun.  @DrKelli, please keep that snow, I don't want it here, lol.

No verbal rambling for me today, lol.  I'm gonna do my Body & Sculpt class, Flexibility class and then Zumba!  Full morning.  Be safe everyone.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

I would just like to say to everyone going to the gym today that I am about ready to start putting one of those invisible fences around my space so I can shock the heck out of those people with no common courtesy or common sense.

Zzzzzzzz!!  One good volt ought to do it!

We do standing leg raises in one of our leg tracks today.  Do you think the chick in front of me would move up so she's not trying to kick my face every time we do a rep?  I can't move back.  I am against the wall.  I move over and she decides to do the opposite leg of what everyone else is on and kick me.

Argh!!!!     If I go to jail for turning my Power class into a Kickboxing one, I want my previous posts for my self-defense.  A person can only take so much!

I'd rather shovel @DrKelli's snow for cardio at this point!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@Laura14, have you ever said anything to that person?  I have gotten to the point that I will say something if someone is that close.  If anything, the minute she made contact with me or got even close, I would tap her on the shoulder and tell her that she (almost) kicked me and that I have no room to move because I am on the wall.  Some people are so situationally unaware--my rage comes up at airports a lot because of that.

The snow has come and gone and I'm pretty happy my driveway was melted off by the time I got home.

I used pretty heavy weights in yesterday's Quick Fit, so I was proud of myself.  Usually, I wimp out with 5s or 8s because well--Monday.  Today is our small group and all of us (3) should be back today.

Yesterday was my eye doctor appointment and my vision hasn't changed.  I did get another pair of glasses so I can have a spare instead of just in my car.  Today is my repeat mammogram, I think I will ask if the radiologist can look at it before I leave so they can make sure it is okay.

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, I was out the door early this morning to walk, needed gloves today but got in 4 miles before 9 am and then started painting the bedroom up until I had to shower and get to my hair appointment.   Room is so small I have to only do 1 wall at a time so I can shift stuff out of my way.  Not sure how I will do behind the bed, it weighs a ton, can't even scoot it it's so heavy and they trying to push it on carpet, not happening.  Hubby is so OCD about painting neatly too, I am neat I think but he always finds a tiny spot on the trim he points out to me.    Like anybody other than us will see it Hahaha....Love the color.  It's Benjamin Moor Pidgeon Gray and I really like it.   One coat covered so well, and no splatters, cleaned up the brush and roller real well too.  Will tackle another wall tomorrow after I get groceries.    Of course one thing leads to another, now I'm looking at comforters and throws and accessories, like $ grows on trees,  NOT Smiley Wink

Laura, I'd be really annoyed or should I say beyond annoyed.  How can people be so unaware is mind boggeling.   Maybe you should get an invisable fence hahaha, that's hysterical!

Dr.Kelli glad the snow is gone, my son said the same thing.  Here one day, gone the next.  Praying your Mam went well and all done until next year!

Lucy how are you doing and Little Lucy.   Will you be in your house by November do you think?  Bet it's beautiful, you have such a knack with decorating!

I didn't order a thing for fashion day, I hardly watched to be honest.  I did start my Christmas shopping though for the grandkids.  I want to at least have some things purchased so I am not grasping at straws come December and then I don't enjoy the holidays.   We are scaling down this year anyways, no name drawings.  I pulled out, only my immediate family ( which is enough)  I'd rather get things for my grandkids anyways.  Us adults don't "need" anything either if you really want to be honest.

Okie better get dinner going, hubby is on his way home!

Have a great evening!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper  I am doing my Christmas/Birthday shopping too.  My entire family is born between now and New Years so I have a double list.  I think I am down to two birthday gifts and three Christmas gifts.  I'm scaling down too with all the medical bills I got gifted with over the summer.

I forgot to say I think my wrist is finally coming along.  It's very difficult for me to do a bicep curl because my wrist doesn't go completely all the way around yet.  I've had to drop the weight just to be able to do the routine.  Today it was a lot easier.  Hopefully I am getting to 100%.  Today is actually 4 months to the day.

@DrKelli I don't do the tap thing.  If I put my hands on someone, they are going through the wall and I didn't want to bother the police at 5:30 in the morning.  Sicilian DNA.    Smiley WinkSmiley Tongue

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Lots of posts, fun to read!

Foxxie, too bad about the scallops.....getting only one, and th3n the next batch wasn't the same. Bummer. One or the other was probably a cooks variation, but restaurants should be consistent.

Bopper, your painting project - what hard work!

DrKelli, snow already? At least it comes and goes, with nice days in between

Laura, Glad to hear your wrist is improving, but yes, you're wise to baby it a while longer.

Have been busy here doing houe3 cleaning chores. Ugh, I hate cleaning.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning all.  You're right, @nomless, most likely a difference the cook and his overuse of that spicy sauce.  I don't like sending food back if I think I can salvage it later at home.

Thanks for the laugh so early in the morning @Laura14, lol.  I've been there but I have, as @DrKelli suggested asked the person to move over....with the friendliest voice and smile that I have.  It seems that people sometimes don't realize they're traveling as they workout.  The ones that erk me are the ones that come in late and get in your space.

Good luck on your mammogram @DrKelli.  I didn't know you could request that it be read on the spot.  I thought it went to another tech or doctor to be read.  I getba little card in the mail about two weeks later saying everything is ok.

Oh, @bopper, where do you get all of that energy?  If I walked four miles, it would be a very light workload the rest of the day.  Most would be parked in front of the tv with my iPad.  That's my MO since retirement.

It's been pouring rain most of the night and it sounds like it just stopped.  No workout today.  This is run around day with grocery shopping first on the list.  We don't need much, just odds and ends.  Half & half is first on the list.  No cream means no coffee, lol.

Make it a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning!  Well, I was in and out for my mammo so hopefully everything is okay.  I didn't get another phone call telling me I had to come back in for more xrays--LOL!  I'm not really worried about it, but it has definitely been awhile since I've had one.  I just got lazy and didn't make the appointment.  Now I'm all caught up on EVERYTHING. My glasses should be in at the end of the week or early next week.  If they come in next week, I won't be able to pick them up until Wednesday.

My arms are super sore today.  I went up in weight in my QF class and yesterday, we did a bunch of leg work in small group.  Today is Restorative Yoga and I actually look forward to that.  When I get home, I'm going to do some Zumba and La Blast learning--simply to keep me awake until 8.  Last night, I had a long blink at some point during NCIS.  It's a good think I record it so that I can figure out what I missed.

I need to complete another module of my ergonomics certification this morning so just a quick post and run!  Have a great day all.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

3 mi/ 38 min on the treadmill.  A guy was using a power tool and every time he started it, the treadmill speed would surge faster, then slow down....what a trip!

@DrKelli Hoping your mammo is unremarkable!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  @MickD, that pretty good time on the treadmill....3 miles/38 minutes.  At my extreme best, I can do 1 mile/15 min.  Usually, I do 1 mile/18 min.  That's profuse sweating.  When I go to my instructor taught class afterwards, I'm dripping.  I love a good sweat, though.  Makes me feel productive.

@DrKelli, I like that, lol.....long blink.  I have many of those watching tv after say, 10:30 at night.  I wake up ten/fifteen minutes later, surprised that some time has passed.

@bopper, I'm surprised when you don't post.  Pooped from all that painting, right.  In my younger days when I was home with my kids, I painted a bedroom once and my kitchen.  I used to love the kitchen walls in The Brady Bunch so I painted my kitchen but did one wall a soft orange/coral.  For a few years, I loved it.

I hope everybody is well... @nomless@Laura14@Iluvlucy, just everyone.  Have a beautiful Thursday!
