Yes, I have stored water, lanterns, wind-up radios, etc. ready because of the deep-freeze last week. We did lose power for about 4 hours in the middle of the night. Cold and dark is not nice.
I can't imagine not having access to water for weeks. I'm sending more prayers for those people and the people affected by this Target credit card breech. Shame on those people that we counted on, that let these things happen.

Oh my goodness. My heart feels for you. I truly hope this is resolved soon. Water is essential for life and we do not appreciate it until is scarce.

I saw this on the news last evening. I turned to my husband and said God bless those folks! Isn't it amazing how much we take for granted in our lives until we don't have it? Prayers that this situation will soon be resolved and the clean water restored.

I am so sorry for your situation. I was wondering if you are able to collect any of the rain water to use? I was just wondering since we are getting such a drenching rain. Prayers for everyone going through this.

I don't have anything to add to what's already been said except for the prayers, that I can add to.
Hope this mess gets cleared up soon, it's really sad how vulnerable we are. If you've already said so, then forgive me for asking, but do they know where the chemicals came from and how were they discovered to be in the water supply.
Maria
P.S. Oh, wait, I do have something to add. If you have Amazon Prime, log in and order water to be delivered from there, at least you'll have some you can drink or cook with. Prime will deliver for free in 2 days.

I saw this on the news last night and was shocked. How could the company not do even routine maintenance inspections to notice the deterioration of the tank before this happened? Too many of these big companies are cutting corners and hoping nothing happens. How can we trust anything they say?
My thoughts are with all the people affected by this. I hope it is resolved soon, but I have a feeling there is no safe "quick fix". Let's hope the disruption is at least kept to a minimum.
Luvboyds, let us know how you're doing during this.

We were like you during the Derecho storm. No water, ice and electricity for 10 days in 95 degree temperatures. There was no gasoline or groceries for four days. It just goes to show us that we aren't prepared and neither is our government for real emergencies. Scary!! I did see where some people are leaving the area to go to stay with relatives, friends and in motels. Hope things get better soon!

I just saw it on the news. How awful! I hope you get clean water soon!!! I think this would be a good time to go on vacation.

I saw it on the news last night too. How terrible. Sending more prayers your way that they get this problem resolved quickly.
