Thank you so much for the continued prayers. This whole thing is one huge scary mess. Some people are still smelling the odor in their homes and are being told now to keep flushing until they don't smell it anymore. The water company has only issued 1000 gallons credit for this flush so people are going to have a hard time paying their bill for this. Yes, we have to foot the bill. Freedom was allowed to file bankruptcy!! As far as my home I don't smell it anymore. It might be because we were some of the last ones to flush. I don't know for sure. No one still yet has drank the water. Everyone is buying water to drink and cook with. I knew something like this could happen but just didn't think it would be here. It's always some place else....ya know? As West Virginians, we are not going to take this lightly and just let this slide and go away quietly. This has ruffled a lot of feathers and I'm glad people are fighting back.

Over in Viewpoints, posters are saying that the tank was punctured by greenies protesting oil drilling. They say it is in the local W VA papers.

Do you have any insight into this?

So sorry to hear the nightmare you are going through!

Nothing confirms that but we have heard things like that and terrorist attacks. It was leaking because of a damaged wall used to contain it. It was cracked and they used a cinderblock and a bag of absorbent to contain it. Apparently it went unreported or someone was paid to not notice it but since no came in to inspect I would say it just wasn't reported.

I cannot imagine what a nightmare this has been for you and the state. I hope it is getting better. I don't think I would ever have trust in the water again. Unfortunately, I think we are devastating the environment for corporate profit and that many of us will face this in the future. We really need a new environmental movement in this country.

Re: We're In A State Of Emergency

luvboyds, and all the good people of WV and surrounding states being affected ~ we are reading more in the news that the water is not yet okay for consumption where you are, and that you may be getting mixed reports on what is actually safe. You are on our minds and in our hearts as we hold all good thoughts for your safety. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Re: We're In A State Of Emergency

I would never underestimate the power of prayer but you need to let your elected representative know that this is unacceptable. I heard on the news that West Virginia is being used as a dumping ground for fracking, mining and all sorts of corporate misbehavior. Someone is getting rich off of your suffering.
