I didn't know people sent in checks to QVC or HSN, I thought orders were paid via debit or credit card which is the most secure way.

@SaveTheTurtles  I think the OP was talking about paying for her QVC card.

I remember there was a time when customers could put an item on Check hold but don't know if that is still the case. There was a certain amount of days to sent in the check.

@RespectLife - For whatever it's worth, I've used paperless statements for my Q Card through Synchrony since I got the card; I don't worry about email reminders and just go in at the beginning of the month to review my statement (which is also downloadable if you want to save a copy in your files) and set up my payment. If you make your own schedule to do the same, you won't have to worry about or rely on Synchrony to deal with your accounting.

Also for whatever it's worth, Amazon cards are available through Chase as well, which is great if you want to be able to use your card elsewhere and get even more cash back. I'm sure I'm their ideal customer in this regard because I just use it all to spend more at Amazon.  Smiley Very Happy

Thanks @loriqvc  but I still prefer to have a paper statement mailed to me FOR FREE.

I may be a dino...but I like having a paper statement so I don't have to rely on computers all the time.

I shop a lot...and need to check my statement VERY carefully since Q often makes errors (Returns dept, although I don't return much)

I will print it out myself so I can easily check each transaction.

Those without a printer will have to come up w/ a plan.

I rarely shop Amz if ever.

QVC NO longer allows check hold to purchase items.  That stopped a bit back.

Purchases Must be CC or Debit.

I don't use my debit card much.   My friend uses her for everything and when using it at Walmart, her card was compromised and someone when on a spending spree.  It took her at least a month to get her money back.  At least with a cc you don't have to worry about money not being in your account.

I hate when I do have to write a check as there are so many thefts with people breaking into the mailboxes and changing the check amount.

On the other hand, they keep pushing using a credit/debit card but want to charge you a fee for using it and not using cash especially in restaurants.

I love the high interest rate I am receiving on my bank savings accounts and CDs!

@Bellajay  - Why go thru all the trouble of writing and mailing a check when you can pay online and receive immediate credit?  So much easier!

If you're not able to pay off the credit card in full, do easy pay and then pay the card off in full each month.

All store credit cards have high rates - not just the Q.  Pay the card in full each month.

San Antonio Gal,

I payed off QVC yesterday and will pay off HSN this coming month. I have read all of the comments and agree, I have not been happy with most of my purchases, and had to send many things back. So it is freeing to know that I do not have to pay on these cards anymore...unless I want too.. Thanks for your reply.Smiley Happy

@Bellajay   I'm still amazed that people still write checks to purchase items especially at the supermarket??  Using a credit card is a lot safer BUT it has to be paid off every month.  All the credit cards that I know of charge exhorbitant rates. Stay within what can comfortably be paid off every month.

@kaydee50 .. I agree with you 💯 percent.   I never keep a balance on my credit cards.  I pay all of them in full when I receive my statements.  My philosophy is  if I can't pay for it in full it means I can't afford it.

Yep, I'm paying mine off again and not watching so I'm not tempted.  I use my debit card for gas & groceries.  Everything else is set up to pay online.  No autopay as I had a nightmare trying to stop it on one account.

With most CCs f you pay off your balance every month you won't be charged interest, QVC would have the details specifically for their card.

Talbots CC has special discounts for certain sales.  However their interest is about the same as QVC's.  The manager suggests to customers when using their Talbot's card at the point of sale when buying the item with the special CC promotion to then use your debit card and pay off the balance.  This can all be done at the Talbot's terminal at check-out.

No interest charged.

As for checks they are dangerous, it's assumed online is less safe, checks can be washed, lost, etc.

@rockygems123

I don't understand why anyone would have to do this.  As long as my CC bill is paid in full every month, there is no interest charged.  Is there something special about the Talbot's card that starts accruing interest the moment you make a purchase? If that's the case, why would anyone use such a card??
