I have only seen old people and very young with the Vera bags.
Um...not in the big cities. In Minneapolis/St. Paul, no UM student I know would ever carry a Vera Bradley bag. They look like cheap flowery tourist bags. Here in the snobby big city the bag people carry Coach, D & B, Kate Spade and LV. Coach and Longchamp are the overwhelming choice for students here.
Those same college 'kids' have parents and get gifts for their birthdays and Christmas... There are plenty of twenty somethings walking around with pricey bags, whether they find the money to buy them or get them as gifts, there are surely a contingent that seem to have them. Thinking back to the summer 'help' several of the girls carried a 'name' handbag, like Coach, Kate Spade or Dooney and had a Vera tote for their gym bag.

I would consider Dooneys to be classic, not dated. There's a huge difference between the two. I've always loved the Dooney style even before QVC started selling them and I'm far from old.

I think any age could carry them, but I just find them too heavy before I even put my stuff in them and I don't carry much.

I have many dooney bags that I adore and I am far from 70. So yes it is just you.

I don't think so, no. But I see you like Paula Deen and I thought she was for older woman, so yes, to each her own.

She has customers who want to be called when she gets D&B's in. I sold them both and got decent money for them. Maybe it's a regional thing?I tried to sell several at a local consignment place...Clothes Mentor (a franchise place).
They wouldn't take the satchels with the D&B logos...said they were out of date and wouldn't sell! I had a black on black one and a brown with tan letters.
I was shocked!
But they did take two Basso coats - a full length faux mink and a short rosette jacket. The girl at the store loved them!
