My 24 year old DD and her friends all carry Dooney or Coach. Dooney is very in style. they have lines, colors, and sizes to please all ages.

My daughter is about the same age and now that she's working, she and her friends mostly carry Michael Kors bags, my daughter has one Coach bag that she uses sometimes. They went through a phase when they were in high school where they carried Dooney but not anymore. I guess maybe it's regional.

Could be regional and I also think a lot of younger girls and women went on the Coach and Dooney fabric logo circuit for a time, but that seems to be a thing of the, dare I say it..., past...

I am tired of people being afraid of being old and bashing stuff that look old. Do you know what the alternative to not being 70 is? Just hope you reach 70, and happy to wear any bag you can. There are a lot of 70 year olds that look better than some 50 year old. They have taken care of themselves to reach that age. I am 77 going on 78 in June and still dress smart and classy, wear bags in style and not under my eyes, have none. Am a trim 138 lbs at 5'6", I was 133 in 1956. I watch my diet, work out at least 2 sometime more hours a day, cut my own trees and bushes, walk 5 miles a day, lift weights one hour a day, do pilates, yoga, etc. I do my own housework, and yard work. Every April, I round out 17 bushes with a trimmer. The gardner that goes to my young neighbors next door just to do their small lawn, they are in their 30's, and it's small, said, he could not do the job I do, for him it's time and money. I always did my own lawn. Now the secret is, I started exercising at age 23, and never stopped through three babies. Some can't exercise today, but if you can DO IT AND DON'T STOP. Do stop looking at the elderly like they don't matter and it's horrible to be that age. Old age is not for sissies and you will get there someday. Keep your mind and body active. You can't stop the numbers that is for sure, but you can help your mental state, keep it alive and young. Sorry for the rant, but it boils my blood at the taking pot shots at a age group. If I took pot shots at a nationality or life style, It would not be PC and I would be bashed for it, but I wish my peers would get together and protest the people making fun of us.

Don't own or want to own VB bags. To me, those are dated. I know they were popular among the college set a few years ago, but I'm not seeing many of them except among older ladies these days, at least in my neck of the woods. Incidentally, it's note the 'dated' aspect that induced me to to carry them, I simply don't care for them, which brings up the whole each to their own thing... If I want a cotton quilted bag (and I own a few, used more for storage than to actually carry) I don't much care who makes them. My thinking is carry what you like and if you don't like it (for whatever reason) then don't buy it... As far as it goes, given the fact that 'vintage' is a hot commodity these days, I'm not so sure that 'dated' any longer applies... or, if it does, that it's a negative...

Yes this. Buy what you like, carry what you like, don't live your life around "shoulds".

All my adult life I admired beautiful handbags but didn't feel I "deserved" to carry them because I'm not a girly girl. So I never carried a bag at all, shoved my wallet and keys in my coat or pants pockets. This past November, DH noticed me "petting" the handbags while we were Christmas shopping for his Mom... and asked why I never carried one since I obviously enjoy them. When I told him I felt too scruffy for such nice bags, he was shocked and told me life is too short for such silly notions. And of course he's right. Age is another silly notion along with "what other people think".... I'm done with all that. I don't personally look at what other folks wear or carry or drive and decide whether they're too old or young for it. Who has time for that? I'm too busy plotting my next handbag purchase. Good for you! You're quite a bit senior to me, but you sure as heck have me beat! Just keep doing what you're doing!
