Am I the only one who thinks D&B handbags should be carried by women who are 70 and over?

Hello ruff115! Ever heard this: ""Everything old is new again""? ""Nothing new under the sun"".

Are you sure you are not referring to Vera totes? I have seen DB in spreads in Instyle! Classic, beautiful bags. I have only seen old people and very young with the Vera bags.

I have to disagree with you about the Vera bags. I have seen many people of different ages with Vera bags. I am 42 and I carry one and so does my 13 year old niece.

I would like to add one more thing to my post above. At age 72 in 2008, I graduated from college with a scholarship and was Valedictorian for the graduating class. I made the Dean's honor list. I was laughed at from some of my so call friends saying I was too old to go to college. I didn't care, this was for me, not for them. So if you have a passion, and mine was to get a degree, because as a single mom with three small children and more than two jobs outside the home, I was too tired for school, but I finally fulfilled that passion and dream. Don't let other people rain on your parade, and JUST DO IT. The title of my speech was, "NO AGE LIMIT". I am still attending college today and have been since 2008. So, take heed from the title of my speech.

Go to any university campus in the country and all you will see are Vera Bradley bags. When people are making snide remarks they should at least be certain of their facts.

Um...not in the big cities. In Minneapolis/St. Paul, no UM student I know would ever carry a Vera Bradley bag. They look like cheap flowery tourist bags. Here in the snobby big city the bag people carry Coach, D & B, Kate Spade and LV. Coach and Longchamp are the overwhelming choice for students here.

Yeah right! we all know that college students have the $$$ to spend on Coach and other overpriced purses. Esp. those who are having to foot the bill to live in "big cities".

That is really inspirational. Congrats on all your hard work.

Um I live in a big city and I see more and more people carrying Vera Bradley bags. Also I have noticed that more and more stores around here are carrying Vera Bradley bags.

I agree ladies! I posted a reply to HH earlier in agreement....sorry Marzak, that may be true of the twin cities, however in NYC (the foremost fashion capital in the U.S.) and at NYU specifically (one of the most expensive and prestigious universities in the country) VBs are seen everywhere among the other designers you mentioned. Luckily, there is not as much snobbery here...just individuality and creative expression...the signs of the truly fashionable. That's what I love about NYers...we are the real deal...VBs, Dooneys, LVs or Chanels...it's to each his own!Smiley Happy))

I'm 29 and I love Dooney bags. They're definitely not trendy bags, but that's the point. Dooney bags are made to be worn for years, hence the classic styles and durable leather. I would also like to add that I know some pretty fashionable 70+ year olds.

{#emotions_dlg.wub} {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} I agree.

I'm often frustrated by the fact that my degree isn't "worth anything" from a practical standpoint...but I do miss the academic atmosphere...and--when I return--I will pursue a second bachelor's that is more practical. Perhaps I will get a master's or doctorate-level degree as well. Who knows? I loved college.

I have one vintage Dooney in the closet, bought for $2. Too lazy to look at it right now. How can you date Dooney bags? Aren't some registered somehow? It's like a old fashioned doctor's satchel, navy and brown leather. Any suggestions?
