Re: Which Le Creuset Pieces do You Use Most?

@CoffeeNut @skittles2

Woman Embarassed I have a big collection of LeC because for about 25 years we stopped at the main outlet store in South Carolina going to family reunions.

I have  mostly Coastal Blue, Marsaille, and plain old blue (bought my first piece in 1992), but one beautiful forest green not made since, yellow/quince, dune, red, 2 flame, a couple of white and one black (shallow oval perfect for pork tenderloins) we use all the time.

I have quite a few smaller than 4-5 qt., biggest are a yellow shallow and a red round 7 qt. Skillets and grill pans we use all the time as well as the soup pots. We cook almost everything in them.

We would stop at the outlet (often at tent sale time) and buy because the prices were unbelievable--bowls, trays, baking dishes, mugs, cookie jar, some special pieces not seen outside outlets.

They are on wire shelves in the garage now rotated as seasons and cooking habits change. I consider them a blessing to have had the opportunity to shop there. Geat cookware and very fond memories of the sweet ladies in the store.

I use my 7 qt oval which is by Staub and a 5 qt round which I bought from QVC many years ago.  I use my braiser which I think is 6 qt a lot.

I'm going to wait for presentation of TSV as my niece wants a dutch oven and she's here visiting so I'll let her decide if she wants it.  I'm not sure what will be TSV.

For the 2 of us we use the 5.25 quart deep one a lot, as well as the 4 and 5 qt. round ones.  We also use the grill pans often both for grilling and baking cornbread (those ridges make great cornbread).

We use the oval 5.5 and 4.5 quart ovens pretty often, plus the round 3.5 quart often. We used to use the large wide round one for parties.

We use the smaller braisers too for chicken and rice dishes and as roasting pans.  We use their spatulas, mugs, silicone pads, tools for non-stick pans, and cream and sugar sets often.  Also some pitchers.

Cooking for two here also, mostly use the 3.5qt round, then the cassadou pan I think they call it, essentially a skillet with a glass lid, love that one, so versatile.  Don't use my size 26 - maybe 5.5qt? round often but will use it Thanksgiving to braise a turkey breast.

Only have used Le Creuset cast iron enamel until today, received creamy white gold knob Crockpot 3qt round, will see how that goes.

I have several sizes.  Some substitute for the gadget machines that others pay for.  Used my way, the LCs  sub for slow cookers, fry pans, etc.

Most often use 4.5-qt oval dutch oven, 3-qt. dutch oven and even the 1.5 qt. saucepan.

This might shock the LC fans, but I  occasionally put the bigger ones in the dishwasher to save time, after a soak and rub-out with Dawn liquid.  If the interiors begin to look a little bad, I just add some white vinegar mixed with water, let sit a few minutes, then  rub out any debris  and put in dishwasher.

Believe me, it works but probably violates the "LC Religion of cookware care".

When I have stubborn stains and or scorching I put on stovetop with shallow water, dawn & baking soda then add white vinegar. I like the science project foaming lol. Simmer for a few minutes then stains gone.

@CoffeeNut Lucky girl! I loved quince too and hope they bring it back. It is a happy yellow but not too yellow!  Just softened a bit!

A little off subject, but could the hosts learn how to pronounce the item / company name?  It is Le Creuset NOT La Creuset or Luh Creuset.   It's like chalk on a blackboard and would take just a little effort and practice and show a bit of respect for the company and TSV.
