Sometimes I'll pick up a 1/4 lb of potato salad to have a tiny bit with half of a sandwich.
We have two stores that make good chicken salad, although, I prefer Fresh Market's and they have the only tuna salad.
If I pick up a quick dinner, it will be from Fresh Market's deli.
Out largest store only uses the store brand to make their dishes which I find lacking.
I forget to go to Publix. I need to give them a try.

@ECBG Not actually my grocer's deli.....but at the Italian market I like to buy thin, freshly sliced cold cuts. Also get fresh ricotta cheese there, too. And loaves of fresh bread, if not rolls.

I never buy anything from grocery store deli counters.

I have a Fresh Market, a Publix, a W-D, Wal-Mart, some other grocery stores in my town, some of which I do not know well enough to shop there because they are in a different part of town. I guess there is still a Whole Foods. I don't know. I heard they were leaving. We also have an Aldi. I don't do them. I think Whole Foods is overpriced stuff that can be purchased elsewhere for a cheaper price. I have shopped either but just don't care to return frequently. Aldi's. I liked at first but their produce always seems old and ugly. Milk was less expensive and good, organic but always so unkempt. Same with their egg section. Our store is small with limited products.
Therefore, from Publix I like their chicken tenders, whole roasted chickens (better than Costco, which we also have). I like hummus of which they always have a wide selection. They have good deli meats. I like a pimiento spread that W-D sells (it is hot and great). I like Fresh Market's and Costco chicken salad (the Waldorf). They taste just alike so it depends on where I am and whose I buy. I like Costco's street taco trays for get-togethers. They have a wide selection of deli items and cheeses. I like Brie and they always have Brie on hand and great pepper jack but so does Publix. W-D has the best perpared charcuterie trays and their fresh smoked meat with barbecue sauce is wonderful. Fresh Market's bakery is beautiful but I find their beautiful cakes, pies, etc, lacking in taste. That's my critique for the day.

I don't normally buy deli foods. I make my own from scratch. I usually throw out most premade foods because my DH doesn't like them.
Two nights ago, I served my DH meatballs my friend got from a farmer's market deli stand. She raves about how delicious they are.. One bite and my DH spit them out. I threw out a dozen of them.
I sometimes get egg custard from the farmer's market...that he will eat.
I make my own chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad and ham salad. My DH is not crazy about potato or Mac, or pasta salad no matter who makes it.

I would say about half the things I get at the grocery store deli counter are not very good. I do like the curry chicken salad at our local small market. Potato salad usually needs "help," but it's a good starting point if you want to serve it and make it a little easier to do.I often pick up a rotisserie chicken and then use the carcass to make chicken broth. So much easier than the mess of roasting a chicken. I'm all about EASY!

I shop mainly at Publix. .
i like their fried chicken parts, tenders, mojo pork, and their wings as being single, i dont make them myself.
Sometimes i pick up their coleslaw, southern-style potato salad, mac n cheese and pre-made chef salads.
I love their Chili, Ultimate Sub or Meatball Sub.

Publix makes chicken in the Deli. Fried, rotisserie or sometimes plain baked. Wings are fantastic!
