Golly gee change the channel. Everyone deserves to take their vacation time. He does a great job. Don't like it don't watch.

Bowersox! The biggest fraud ever! David never claimed to be a "chef". When he started the show he told the audience exactly what he is "a down home cook". It's no one's business how much time any host is off unless you are paying that person. David has seniority with plenty of vacation time and is following QVC guidelines as is everyone else. It's pretty sad when you begrudge someone's time off which is most likely spent with his elderly mom.

I don't have any inside information but the word is DV is their highest selling salesman. How, I have no idea. You would think that someone who sells jewelry would have the biggest sales.
Made me start thinking about it. If I worked there, I have just enough competitiveness that I would try to knock him off the top. I'd find me some great vendors with really good products and sell them like crazy. Jewelry, whatever. I'd be willing to bet there's something in his contract to prevent any real competition.
There's no doubt he's a great salesman. So many of the other hosts are just there to take up space, they offer no real product descriptions, they really bring nothing to the table so to speak. Even the host selling $400 leggings. DV has a great love of food and cooking and it shows, like it or not.
His last trip home wasn't a vacation, he was there to help his mom.
He'll come back like a whirling dervish.

I like David - he's down-to-earth, has a great sense of humor and appears to have a good heart! Like others have said, he never claimed to be a chef or to have gone to culinary school, and I think that's part of his appeal. He's like many of us who just want to have fun with recipes...experiment a little and make good food for ourselves and/or our families. I've tried several of his recipes from the Q website as well as own a couple of his cookbooks and have found several favorites from trying his recipes.
Bob Bowersox had a much different personality from David, much more reserved and low-key. I love David's as I think he's much more relatable to a larger audience, but that is only my opinion, I know.
I would never think he gets any more vacation than he's entitled to...I have great respect for the QVC hosts. It's a tougher job than I think many people know. I know I could never do it, and any vacation they get they have truly earned!

Oh boy. First thing - Bob was NOT a chef. He just wore a chef's jacket and said he was a chef, but he was not. He was let go for good reasons and that doesn't need to be relitigated here. He and a friend owned a chain crepe place (must be something regional as I'd never heard of it) and that was the extent of it.
Secondly, I would well imagine that David's vacation time is in accordance with his contract. When you are with a company for so many years you accumulate more vacation time.
I don't know if folks who have never been career people realize this but when you are with a company for a lot of years you have a good amount of annual vacation time because you have EARNED it.
BTW, last time David was out was because his mother was injured. I suppose there are some who would just say 'too bad, work anyway', but that's not the way it goes. He went to care for her for a short period.

QVC management approved of David's vacation time off. So why should this be a concern of ANY viewer?!!!

Nicely stated, I too, think this job is not for the weary.

No one should be concerned with the hosts being off or how much vacation time they get off.
No one here knows what is going on in their lives. Sometimes when the hosts are off, it's not always for vacation.
