In the mood for some of those.  Don't buy the canned stuff.

So please share how you like to do yours.

Look under recipe forum for October recipes and on third page is a sloppy joe recipe. It looks delicious.

We love this seasoning packet.  I am planning on making them this weekend.

I should try to make my own.  We always have sloppy joes for dinner on Halloween with potato chips.  It was something my mom always had and now we have it.  Comfort food for me!

I make my own and have not used the tomato based type for quite awhile.  I also have used ground pork or ground turkey instead.  I googled "Sloppy Joe with Campbell's soup" and hit the jack pot.

I use the following ingredients, but I call Sloppy Joe's, barbecue.

vinegar
Worcestershire sauce
ketchup
brown sugar
chopped onions
prepared mustard
ground beef

I cook the beef and onions first, let that cool in the refrigerator, remove the fat, add other ingredients in a pan, then taste to see if it needs more of something.

Hi all,

I use the Pioneer Woman's recipe. Best Joes ever! Makes a lot and freezes well too.

I have made a recipe with Heinz 57 Sauce for years which is very easy:

Brown 1 lb ground beef, drain off fat.  Add 1/2 tsp salt , 1/2 cup ketchup and 1/3 cup Heinz 57 Sauce.  Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

This is somewhat of a  spicy, sweet recipe.

I am finding it harder to find the Heinz 57 sauce and it is rather expensive.  I found this recipe on the Internet recently and have made it several times.  I did not tell hubby about the change so he is not aware that it is a different recipe but tastes the same (my dirty little secret!)

Brown 1 lb ground beef, drain off fat.  Add 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup water , 2 Tbls brown sugar,   2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp prepared mustard, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder and 1/2 tsp salt.  Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes.
