I have heard of parchment paper, but I have never used it in my life and I am almost 60! Where have I been? I can't believe how many things (including cookies) that I have baked without this paper. Yikes!
What's funnier is that my mom was the one that recently discovered it and she is almost 80!
I know this is old news for most, but this thead is for the newbees that don't know about it.
Last night I baked some breaded frozen fish on a cookie sheet using the parchment paper as a liner. It even cooked faster, crunchier and did not stick!
Bake, toss the paper and don't wash the pan! What could be better? Oh and the best is that it is nonstick!

I love to discover things that have been around forever. I keep mine in a wrapmaster dispenser.

@mima WOW - don't I agree with you! What a wonder. We have parchment in our kitchen drawer and DH uses it occasionly but I've never used it. I always grabbed the alum foil to line my cookie sheet every time I'd do a big batch of wings in the oven.
Well not anymore!!!! I read recently in one of our cooking/recipe mags that we get as a tip to use parchment because nothing sticks to it. Okay, so I tried it one night with the wings. I was doing the happy dance in my kitchen when I pulled out the pan to turn the wings over - NOT ONE STUCK to the parchment!!!!!! Imagine my surprise.
I'll never cook/bake on foil again. You do not need to use a spray oil for non-stick, and it's biodegradable.
PARCHMENT ALL THE WAY!!!

@PINKdogWOOD I always use foil for lining pans for chicken wings, etc. too! I can't believe I didn't know how great this paper was. I just used it for the first time last night.
I really need to remember to ask my daughter if she uses parchment paper. I'm pretty sure she doesn't and she bakes cookies, etc. weekly.
I can't figure out why I have used tin foil, plastic wrap, and wax paper but never parchment paper. Oh well...............better late than never.

I discovered parchment paper in my 40's. Now hubby and I use it for fish, biscuits, cookies and more. Love not having stuff stuck to my cookie sheets!

@shelinmi Totally agree - the non-stick factor is amazing.

@mima Learn something new everyday don't we? And in the kitchen to help us out, and get the job done quicker & easier, amazing.
