I've signed up for email alerts from Williams-Sonoma, Chefs, Metro Kitchen & Cutlery & More and get notified of their sales. Many times they have free shipping with no minimum purchase or very little. Some of their prices on LC are pretty good, especially when they have % off sales. Suggest you sign up for these alerts. Lots of great bargains out there if you're patient to wait.

You get what you pay for and with Le Creuset it will last you a lifetime. As far as the Martha Stewart brand is concerned, I had it and it discolored and rusted. I returned it to Macy's for a full refund. There's a reason its always on sale and so cheap - "its NOT durable". Like I said, you get what you pay for.
I should have returned my MS pot. Did you know LC has a 15 quart goose pot. Now that's a big pot.
It retails for about $600. I'd never buy it but I think LC is worth every penny.
Have you ever seen that thing? How many would it take to get the pot and the involved goose in the oven???
Well if the goose helped, probably not that long. Lol.
I love my Le Creuset! My large Dutch Oven is my most used pot.
GREAT idea! LOL!!!!!!!

Williams-Sonoma carries Staub and sometimes has very good prices on select pieces! They have the most beautiful glazes and colors of any of the cast iron!

So true that you never go back once you start using Le Creuset. I have indeed become a LC addict and because if it my cooking tastes better and I love to cook again. I wish QVC would carry more of it and on easy pay, too. Using it on my glass top stove is no problem, I am careful not to drag it but you have to be careful with any pot or pan with that kind of stovetop.
Another avenue to get LC at reasonable prices is to find used pieces on ebay. Just be careful not to pay too much as there are some sellers asking way too much for these pieces. But there are good deals there, too. Also there are LeCreuset outlets in quite a few places. I have purchased many of my pieces there. Quite often the LeCreuset outlets have fantastic sales and combined with a coupon you can sometimes get at the Service desk at these outlets, the items become quite reasonable.
I love my LeCreuset!!!!! Oh, I just purchased that huge goose pot and anxious to make a turkey in it. Hope it fits in my oven :-)

I totally understand about the price - its ridiculous. I bought a 10 quart from QVC for $300 and I got the larger one at the Le Creuset Outlet which is about a hour from my home. I would not spend $600 on one pot but there is nothing that lasts and holds up like this brand.
I ran to buy the Martha Stewart at Macys when it was on sale. It looked very nice but once I started cooking with it - it deteriorated and rusted. That is when I decided to make the investment in Le Creuset. You have to try and find it on sale or see if you have one of their Outlets nearby.

I had a gas range until a few weeks ago and now have an electric stove with a glass top (not my choice!)
I've found you do have to promptly wipe up spills and the enamel cookware gets very hot and spills can get baked onto the glass cook surface.
I have a Chantal dutch oven which was my best cookware investment ever. I miss my gas burners but will not give up cast enamel cookware!

I have a 13.25qt Le Creuset pot and I cannot even imagine one larger! This one seems like a strain on the oven rack but so far, so good. It's humongous and weighs an absolute ton before you even put anything in it!
I got this several years ago, in brand new condition, on ebay for $200. Couldn't pass up that deal.
I would highly recommend this brand. I did have one in the Staub brand but I bought an LC pot in that size and sold my Staub. It found a wonderful home. ![]()
Also, as to enameled cast iron, this is another item that you just do not want to get 'made in China'. I've read far too many recalls and bad reviews about them cracking in half, the enamel removing itself spontaneously from the cast iron, and other such problems - all with enameled cast iron made in China. They also tend to chip very easily. I believe one of the brands that came to light with these problems was Paula Deen's brand, but there have been several since.
Some things are made perfectly fine in China, but cast iron, enameled cast iron, and stoneware-type products are ones you want to keep away from heat because really bad things happening.

My friend has one and it's gorgeous. She uses it to steam crab, oysters, etc. I could find a lot of uses for that thing. I'd have to ask my DH help me lift it out the oven should I bake with it.

Hi chicken butt: Here here. My MS dutch oven was definitely a Made in China special, I'm sure. Yes, my LC teapot has held up very very well and that takes a beating. My family of 5 makes about 10 cups of tea a day and it still looks just as good as it did on DAY ONE. and it's the flame color so dings would show. It swipes clean.

Hi Sooner. Do you use a bread maker? If so, which brand do you recommend?
