It's a rare cake with icing that I will bother to eat. I don't like cakes with icing and cake box cakes or cheap made cakes from most grocery stores. I love real pound cakes made from scratch and sponge cakes but only angel food cake made at one bakery which is dense and moist. I can't figure out how to make one like that. For my birthday I never wanted a cake - only my mother's chocolate cream pie!

my favorite these past few years have been cupcakes my daughter always makes for my birthday and she says Mom, they are just white cake mix and white frosting out of a can! I just love it!

Also my grandmother and I used to make cake from white cake mix and then chocolate icing out of the can-when it came out of the oven still warm and then iced, we would eat it!

Heavenly!

On the other side, my sister maes a very mean rum cake, ad fruit cake and my mother made an incredible lemon cake and coconut cake.

Oh wait, this is supposed to be about those you don't like lol!

Oh, yeah, again German Chocolate , also carrot.

Carrot cake for sure, even with a great frosting I just cannot stomach a veg. named cake. Kind of like sweet potato or minced meat pie. I am just now coming around to lemon cake after turning my nose up on that one too. Tastes change as the years march on. I love pound cake since you can top if with so many different things or nothing at all. Warm it up put on butter, powdered sugar, honey or even drizzle some syrup on it. Also I do add frosting quite a bit to pound cake. No rules in calories!!

Red velvet. I never understood how adding red food coloring made it special to it's fans (guess it has vinegar also) but just give me chocolate cake without additives. I am not a fan of German Chocolate , but I do like the little frozen Pepperidge Farms coconut cakes so I guess I like coconut . I think it is the light chocolate in it also.If I am going to indulge I like generous frosting! I do not care for dry cakes with glaze.
