Re: Is There A Cake You DON'T Like?????

I like most cakes. But it is a big NO for me to fruticake or Black Forest cake (not a fan of cherries in cakes or pies)

Although I'm a chocoholic, I don't care for German chocolate. That's probably because I don't like food with coconut on it. But the funny thing is I love any products that are coconut scented.

I love coconut cake-one of my favorites! but do not like German Chocolate cake at all!

I don't eat cakes with nuts, raisins, or coconut, and I don't eat fruit cake.

Banana, chocolate, yellow, marble, and angel food cakes are my favorites.

I am very picky where my calories will come from.  I have even insulted people by refusing the dessert. My DS made the best red velvet cake with a marshmallow icing. I don't like anyone else's.  Black Forest cake to me and mind you This is my opinion is gross.

@godi Me too!  I'm eating sweets for what I like!

But one of the best things I ever ate was the Black Forest Cake they had at the restaurant at the Biltmore Hotel in L.A.

It had a not too sweet chocolate, Kirsch soaked cherries and real whipped cream between the layers and on top.  It was so good I had it every day we were there because I found out you could get it at the bar!!!!  I'd walk in and the bartender would laugh and say "the usual?" ( Breakfast was about 10:30 a.m.  Just before the stores opened! )

I don't care for coconut cake, German chocolate or angel food cake. I can't stand canned frosting. The only store bought cake I like is white on white birthday cake.

And our grocery store has had a good tiramasu  cake that I like.

If I get in the mood for a good chocolate cake I prefer to make it if I have time, especially the icing in dark chocolate or cream cheese.

I never liked spice cake. Other than that I like homemade cake

with buttercream frosting.

German Chocolate 👎.

What a shock it was to find very little chocolate flavor.

I do love a good homemade, southern Fruitcake.

Re: Is There A Cake You DON'T Like?????

I don't like spice cake, carrot cake or Texas sheet cake.  Only want a minimum of icing on a cake.  My DH makes a chocolate cherry cake with chocolate chips in it.  It is so good doesn't even need icing.
