so after much scouring, waiting for backorders, i FINALLY get my new whirlpool double oven. Hubby installed it today. we turn it on to check the temp against my oven termometer, and the fan is LOUD!
is this normal?? i did a little digging online, and some say, it's the new norm.
i'm thinking of calling a tech on monday.

@kittyloo We bought a new whirlpool double oven a couple of years ago and yes, the fan is very loud when the oven is pre-heating. It also uses quite a bit of electricity. So we use a little countertop oven for most of our daily meals and just use the double oven when we are cooking larger meals for family gatherings.

@kittyloo I have the Whirlpool double oven, and I do not like it. It is loud when heating, cooking, and cooling down. The trick is to open the oven door slightly, and it will cool down more quickly when the meal is complete. It is loud the whole time it is cooking, and the heat is vented into the room. Our oven is about 4 years old and has had two main computer boards replaced, some other board replaced, and the thermostats replaced. Two different repair services have tried to correct its problems with the last company coming out three times. The top oven still does not reach the correct temperature.
If you can return your oven, I would strongly suggest doing that. If you can't, keep your warranty as long as possible. We cook our meals in a countertop Breville oven. I only use my lower oven for holiday meals. I never use the top oven.

I purchaased a new stove/oven and the fan in fairly quiet. The store only had 3 stoves in stock. I spent more than I planned because I purchased induction GE Profile/Cafe but I'm pleased with it. (My previous oven was 20+ years old)
I had been using my Breville countertop oven for years since that was the first thing that broke on my old stove. Breville honors the warranty because they replaced the first oven that was defected. It was a good solution to our problem and gave me time to save for the replacement.
I noticed the racks in some of the newer ovens having a difficult time to slide in and out of the oven.
If there is no mention about the sound of the fan in the booklet then I would call CS or have the tech come out. It's new and you need to know what to expect.

thank you to those who replied. it was very helpful. seems i can't return once installed.
i tried baking a cake last nite, and it cooked nice and evenly. so maybe it's something i'll just have to get used to.
