Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

I love fresh flowers in my home especially in the winter but don't buy them oftrn enough.

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

Someone would often buy me fresh flowers, for no reason. It was a nice gesture and it always made me smile. That hasn't happened in years. I should just buy some when I go to the store the next time I go.Woman Happy

Maybe in summer at the farmer's market. DH used to send them to me occasionally, but I think the florists charge too much - at least the ones at grocery stores are affordable.

I love tulips in the spring and in summer I occassionally treat myself to a bouquet from the farmer's market.

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

I buy fresh flowers only sporadically, but would love to have them more often.  We grow a few peonies, the hardy, impossible-to-kill Saratoga rose, and of course lilacs, which I sometimes cut and bring in.

That's really good to know that you like the "Peony" brand of faux flowers, @Annabellethecat66 .  I've almost succumbed to them several times, but not yet.  Thankfully, I've noticed them producing a few of their items where you can remove the flowers from the vase they come with-- I prefer that for flexibility, being able to switch things around.  Wish they would do more of that.

@RedTop  I have allergies and asthma and have never been told to restrict flowers or house plants, only thing I can not tolerate in Lillies with their pollen

NO fresh flowers or potted plants in this house due to severe allergies, asthma and COPD.

Also no silk flowers or other things viewed as dust catchers.

I do buy flowers for my mom several times a year and send flowers to a friend in her 80’s.

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

My grocery store has beautiful fresh flowers and plants all of the time.  And they last forever!  Most times the fresh flowers will last at least two weeks.  I like to keep a bouquet in the bedroom and den.  I started doing this after reading an article about how fresh flowers filter the air.  I don't buy them though during the Christmas holiday because I have poinsettias in very room in my house!  They're supposed to be good air filters too.

I buy fresh flowers in the dead of winter, to brighten my surroundings. The rest of the year, I cut flowers for my beds.
