Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

Love fresh flowers. There are such beautiful ones as soon as I walk into the grocery store. However, my cat would eat them so I pass them on by.

I think I've picked up a small bouquet once.  I'm just not a flower person.

In the summer months, I will buy occasionally. I love the smell and the look of them, but they don't last long!

[ Edited ]

During tulip season I buy them weekly as they are my favorites.  I don't care much for those mixed bunches at the grocery store as they are a lot of fuss to maintain with all the trimming, water changing, picking out the dead ones, etc.

I'm not really a flower person, but there are certain flowers that are worth the effort.

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

Not often enough.

I love fresh flowers and I always tell myself I'm going to treat me to some (cause no one else does), but I usually just walk on by because as much as I enjoy them, I feel like buying them for myself is kind of a waste of money (mostly because they will just die).

I'm in a no spend thing right now, but maybe in the second half of the year, I'll consider treating myself once in awhile!

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

I'd buy more often if growers weren't just offering or stores weren't just selling unscented versions of flowers that are supposed to actually have a fragrance.

Even hyacinths are very diminished in fragrance.  And roses, wow.

I know they create them for longevity, but this comes at the cost of losing fragrance.  I hope everyone either can grow their own or have a kindly neighbor with plenty of space to grow fragrant flowers and loves to share the bounty!

Re: How Often Do You Buy Fresh Flowers?

When I was working I purchased fresh flowers quite often.  Now, being retired, only once in a while.
