Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Get ready to dust off those decluttering shoes, I'll be starting a brand new thread on Jan 1 to get us all started in the new year!

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today

I have gotten rid of SO much in just the last 2 weeks, large furniture items and one large rug and then the smaller, off to Goodwill they go, items but as I have been packing, there just feels like there is so much still.  Because I have packed things sitting in the dining room and front entry hall.  It makes it feel cluttered because things aren't in their normal places.

Today starts my serious packing. I've done a ton of packing but today is the start of the really serious effort to finish a few rooms I've started.

Closing day is Thursday and I plan to take my hanging clothes, purses and shoes that day, right after closing. I have my purses 90% packed.  Today is the day to finish those, etc.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh    You purged and packed well.  I wish you well on your move.  Did they get the flooring fixed?  I admire you and your strength.  I know you will love your new build.  Glad you were able to find a home for the table and all the pieces, I know you are happy taking the hutch..

One room, upstairs guest room, is totally empty. Forgive the rippled carpet. The carpet stretcher guy will come after I move out.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

Hello all, I haven't been here for a while. Been busy, but not really doing much decluttering so didn't have anything to report.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday and could celebrate in whatever manner you most wanted to do, with the people you most wanted to, also.

I have taken my decorations down, today. I was just ready to get back to a more minimal look. Have everything tucked back under the stairs where they "live" until next year.

I also took a carload of cardboard and a few things to drop off at the donations center today; 2-floor lamps w/shades, a Keurig coffee pot, a new comforter that we did not like, a couple of other small items. My car was FULL. Glad to get those things out of here.

I don't see myself doing much more by way of purging before the beginning of the new year, but I will def check in on the new thread when it is started.

In the meantime, wishing you all a healthy and Happy New Year.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

Purging and donating will restart after January 1.  I have a lot of new tops and will donate some of the older ones, especially T-necks I have in abundance in almost every color of the rainbow.  I also have a lot of like new slacks I will donate, some of which I haven't worn for awhile.

DH was just complaining about his closet being too full so we'll sort through shirts and slacks and donate a lot of them too.

Recently, we discovered a church near us that has a thrift shop and I think I'll take a lot of things there this time rather than GoodWill.

@chessielady - Chessie glitter, how cute! I never thought of it like that. We have one male and one female. Our guy is 10 and our girl is 8 so they are starting to get up in age. They can definitely be stubborn for sure. Our boy had obedience classes before we got him and he is the best behaved dog we've ever had. Even when you know he doesn't want to listen, he still will.

Our girl is just the opposite. Lived in a cage/small kennel for her first year and didn't have much socialization so she isn't trained very well, but she is the sweetest thing we've ever met. She just has a gentle, old soul. I love her to death. Very good dogs, but definitely not for everyone. Pleased to meet you too!
