I had been a member of the HSN forums....when they were taken down on a Christmas Eve sometime in the early 2000s because of a shockingly offensive and vicious attack by "newcomers".     I came over to the Q after that.

I have no idea.  It says I joined in 2010, but I can't imagine how that number was chosen.  It doesn't seem right, but I read posts for a while before I participated.

I have shopped with the Q for many, many years and only recently actually joined the Forums. Often times, I simply read and Heart on topics and steer clear from engaging in negative/argumentative topics as I prefer not to engage in those. However, there are many kind and helpful posts and posters that I do engage with and I am grateful for those and thank you @SandySparkles and others who strive to make the world a little better/kinder! 😊

My account says I joined in 2010, but I know I joined a few years prior to that. When new forum software was put in place years ago our join-by dates were changed. 

I left the forum for several years because it seemed to have been overrun by bullies and mean girls. Seems like it's calmed down a lot from that period. 

Lots of nice ladies here. Offer some good advice and have interesting things to say. Especially about shopping which we all love. That's why I check in occasionally. I like the fact that some of the forum names are ones I've seen for years.

As previously mentioned, I'd posted on the old HSN forums.

I think I liked it better back then. The Internet was really exploding, and chaotic and some places were like the wild west.

It seemed freer too, and we didn't worry about being tracked or listened in on, & even when you were posting on a public forum, somehow it felt intimate, or even private, as bizarre as that may sound.

The internet grew up, I suppose, now with rules and algorithms set in place.

It's like our relationship with cars:

No more riding on the tailgate of a station wagon, or bumping along in the back of a truck. We're now held in place by seatbelts and protected by headrests and airbags.

In the long run it's probably better for us, but we do miss those older days.

@SandySparkles ....I'm kind of a newbie compared to 

most of the folks here, but this forum has become a wonderful place to visit and interact with a lot of kind, 

helpful, knowledgeable, witty, ascerbic, cranky, and, for the most part--lovely people.

I am blessed with a big family and several close friends, but we don't live next door to each other and so as as

someone who lives by themself these forums can  be the difference between being alone and being lonesome!

Thanks for being one of my "neighbors".   (My apologies, Mr. Rogers!)

Same for me!  I joined about the same time and retired in 2019.  Although I might have posted here and there before retiring, it's only been since I'm retired that I've become more active on the forum.

I guess I started somewhere around 2007 or thereabouts.  I'm not exactly sure how I stumbled on the forum.  I would have my early morning coffee and enjoy reading some of the posts before heading off to school.  I did post here and there at the time, but it was not until 2019 that I retired from teaching,  and now can have that 2nd cup of morning coffee without heading to work.  

The forum back then was different than today, some better, some not.  It's like anything in life, you just have to adjust if you want to make it work.

2007 when I first joined.  It is a great place to spend time and see a bit into the lives of others.  I love the encouragement and concern that so many of us show each other when tragedy or disappointment strikes.  There are some stinkers here from time to time but almost all here are kind and considerate.
