For me, this doesn't go far enough. "Not today" implies you are open to bringing it up another time. I'd let her know in no uncertain terms that the subject is not up for discussion unless YOU bring it up. If she doesn't respect your wishes, well, there are tons of other stylists out there. And this doesn't have to be done or said in a nasty way, just that you don't want to speak about it and hope she respects your wishes.
