I know that a lot of married couples stop sleeping together for whatever reason - schedules, restlessness, snoring, getting up to to go the bathroom.
We don't sleep well without each other. We have a king size bed and we watch movies together, read, talk - we could live in bed if we had to. LOL
I remember my grandparents sleeping seperate - they were both very loud snorers. My parents always slept in the same room together.

My SO and I have been together for 16 years, but have only lived together for 5 years. He moved into my place, but it's quite small. We do have separate bedrooms. He always has multiple fans blowing on him from all directions; I don't like a fan blowing directly on me. He has restless leg syndrome and gets up several times during the night. We spend plenty of time together otherwise, sometimes too much. I miss having my own space and am seriously considering buying a duplex.

Absolutely, positively yes! I would love for my husband and I to sleep in separate bedrooms. The 16 years I worked nightshift, allowed both of us to get the restful sleep we needed, and we miss that. However, we don't have an extra bedroom available to make this happen.
My husband does not sleep well, due to neuropathy in his legs and feet. Some nights he doesn't go to bed until 1:00, and he's up and moving by 6 a.m., but may take 3-4 naps in his recliner throughout the day. He uses a c-pap at night, and also has a tendency to sleep on his back, which results in air seepage around the face mask, and wakes me every time. I rarely have a single night of totally restful sleep, and my best sleep is usually before he gets in bed, and after he gets up in the morning.
We would both benefit from having separate beds.

Some psychologists believe this is a good thing for a marriage and of course, some don't. Of course, it's not unheard of to sleep in a different bed in the same room.
Would you want a separate bedroom from your spouse?
It's a good thing if your significant other is a restless sleeper & you're woken up constantly by their movement or if your s.o. is a heavy snorer. Another good reason would be they like to leave the window open in cold weather because they like the cold, while you want the room warm & toasty.

Why not, why not separate rooms for sleeping, and two rooms to choose from for playing.
