@suzyQ3   Yep, it sums it up. Good for them.

Re: Restaurants That Don't Have Dine In Anymore.

For this entire year I have eaten in a restaurant one time.  Valentine's Day.  It is just not something I enjoy, Covid or no Covid.  I love take-out or just plain family style cooking at our homes.  So for me it is nothing to not go back inside a restaurant.  I do not blame any restaurant who does not want patrons inside anymore.

My doctor said restaurants are one of the worst places people could be during Covid.

I told him I never ate out much before Covid so now I won't go in a restaurant to eat at all.

We do pickup orders from a few places every once in a while.

Restaurants generally have kids running amok so not interested.

My doctor said the same thing.  And he said masks and social distancing are the order of the day until he tells me it isn't.

I have no problem with indoor dining so long as I feel the tables are separated adequately and other protocols are followed.

Approximately 300,000 are employed by the restaurant business in NYC. About 40% are projected to close permanently with the loss of outdoor dining as cold weather approaches and limited indoor capacity.

I have never seen anyone mimimize the damage to our economy, @Johnnyeager. But unless we make very sure that we are doing everything possible to prevent sickness and death, the economy will not magically revive. We have to get off the rollercoaster of ups and downs and get this under control.

I don't know if I will ever inside of a restaurant again, which is not a problem for me, and I will NEVER eat at a buffet!  It is not the restaurants I worry about, it's the patrons I don't trust.  We've been getting curbside and eating at home!

@Hooty   DD and I do take out too.  Even before this virus going to sit in a restaurant had lost it's appeal.

DH and I used to go out to eat frequently.  He always enjoyed it more than I did.

Re: Restaurants That Don't Have Dine In Anymore.

I have learned not to decide who is being a crank or ungrateful during this pandemic.

While I am happy for this family business, I don't know why it was important to point out the 1 person who appears to have asked a question about cooking her order.

Sometimes a question is just a question.

I get it about being grateful and all that-but assuming this woman is just not a nice person based on one person claiming to know her-well, we really don't know if the person is really feeling put out.

All this just makes me SMH because I doubt there is anyone here who hasn't felt put out by this pandemic at one time or another.

Re: Restaurants That Don't Have Dine In Anymore.

My Son is chef at a brew pub in Rio Rancho and I'm on their FB feed.  They are killing it with to go specials and a large patio area ( obviously their beer specials are a big draw).  Only drawback is they were supposed to be on Diners and Dives but who knows now.  In Tennessee the well known BBQ place "Sweet P's" is owned by my college roomy's family and they just announced yesterday that they are adding a third large location with dine in, to go and a large sports bar.  Point is, some are prospering in spite of Covid.

Re: Restaurants That Don't Have Dine In Anymore.

@Cakers3  If someone is going to get upset over something in their life that got affected by this virus there is plenty of stuff.

losing a loved one

losing a job

not be able to be at hospital with someone a loved one when they die

losing a home

having to home school and work at the same time, etc.

A person not being able to plop their butt in a seat in a restaurant and have someone serve them seems petty by comparison.
