Man, I have seen a HUGE increase in SPAM calls in the past couple days! It's like when I turned 64 1/2 and got on the Medicare hit list.
Wassup with that? Political calls?
They are all computer generated, so I can't block them. A new number each time.
The Do Not Call registry can't stop these calls. Worst day so far was 17 calls! Got so bad I unplugged my phone. (Yes, I still have my landline for various reasons....).
Not a world crisis, I know, just had to vent a little.....I think Covid is getting to me.

I will always keep my landline. I can't stand the hollow sound of a cell phone. I'm getting a lot of phished calls (caller ID says one thing, but they're spam calls). I don't answer them. My cell phone gets even more! I found the "do not call" list to be useless. I think I got even more calls after signing up on that.

I still have a landline too. Will never give it up. I'm getting a lot of spam calls too lately!!

It happens on both my cell and landline. I don't even answer the phone any more most of the time. At least on my cell I have a spam blocker and that stops most of them from ringing through.

It may not be a world crisis @Dragonflyveb but it sure is annoying as heck. SPAM calls was the reason I got rid of my landline, they drove me nuts. Not sorry I did.

One nice thing when everything was shut down, the spam calls were almost nonexistent. Now they are picking up again. SInce we have a bundle we will keep our landline. We rarely use it and I don't answer any calls that I don't recognize.

Another land line keeper here. Yes, Medicare enrollment and elections both dramatically increase the spam calls.
I found out that AARP and my auto/house insurer sell
phone # lists. Opted out of where I can- but some can't
get out of.

Been happening to me too--had 20 calls in one day from Apple/Icloud spammers--call your provider about it--and report if you have your number on the do not call list. I did both these and it has stopped, maybe one or 2 a week.

Yes! especially during the past week or two. Most I just dismiss. The ones I picked up were for extended auto warranties. I just quit CarShield- a ripoff IMO.
