Please consider Direct Relief. One hundred percent of all monies go to supplies. They provide medical supplies and medicines. They have contacts in Ukraine in medical facilities. You can check them out. They are a local (Santa Barbara CA) charity.

I hadn't heard of this organization, so thanks for adding it to this thread.

Why would anyone donate to a local church here ... rather than a charity that can actually do some good for Ukraine? Although I assume they mean well, I'm not sure that would be a trustworthy or efficient option.
@Tinkrbl44 Agreed. The organization should have accountability and be audited to assure donations go where intended. There are many religious organizations I wouldn't trust. I don't necessarily assume they mean well.
@Kachina624 @Tinkrbl44 People often donate to their local churches because they are there for services. Sometimes it is easier.
Local churches can turn over the donations to the organization set up to deliver the items overseas.
Local businesses here have raised substantial sums which are turned over to Ukrainian SA. Slipping a few dollars into a jar - I just do not think twice about it. Just like giving to the homeless.
We can say that any organization could skim cash or clothing; it is really up to the individual to donate what and where they choose.
Odd how churches are always targeted; false memes accusing megachurches of doing nothing do not help, either.
It is good to see suggestions here for different organizations.
Do as you feel comfortable; there is no right or wrong way. jmoymmv

I had never heard of the World Central Kitchen until this thread. I have just sent them my donation. Thanks for the direction to being of help for the hurting.

@beckyb1012 After reading here about how to donate to World Central Kitchen, I also donated. I like that you can donate with PayPal and not put your creditcard information online.
Jose Andres has been doing wonderful work in
disaster areas since the earthquake in Puerto Rico. He has set up
areas to feed people, not just in Poland, but in all the countries
bordering Ukraine who are accepting refugees. God bless these
people who are living this horrific nightmare and the wonderful
volunteers who are assisting them.

I am with you. After reading about their work and I saw the Paypal for donating then I did it immediately. Paypal all the way for me.

I donate to several organizations monthly, e.g., Catholic Relief Servies, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders. Call me a cynic but I am very skeptical of donating for a specific cause. A lot of money comes in all at once and IMO provides a good opportunity for mishandling. JMHO.
And I always check Charity Navigator before donating to a new organization.

A couple years ago 60 Minutes did a story on the founder of World Central Kitchen. Amazing story and I think that man is a true hero. I donated.
