I certainly never gave it to them. The second one welcomes me to my first day at f Pinterest and wants me to set up"my boards". Ugh these people are really pushy. Needless to say they will both go to the trash bin immediately.
Wow. While my first thought is 'YIKES!', my second thought is that I'm not surprised.
I would see if there is an 'unsubscribe' option at the bottom of one of the emails. Otherwise, you will probably keep getting them.
Outside of the scary spam, just regular spam from a mainstream site, you can usually safely unsubscribe. HTH! ![]()

I am not going to confirm my e mail so hopefully they will just go away.

I would like to know what it's like there, how they use my personal information, well - THAT they use my personal information (which is a deal breaker for me), and stuff like that.
I would not be inclined to join a place, sight unseen. Maybe that's just me, and that's ok too.
Okay @chickenbutt you need stop right there 'cause you are making way too much sense! :-). Seriously though, there are just way too many well crafted competing websites with as much or more of the same type of information that they're offering to deal with their nonsense.
Ha!
Crazy me - a reality based thinker.
I also notice so many sites that make me want to scream when I'm there to either purchase something or search something and they keep greying out the page and covering it with a 'want to sign up for - freaking whatever?'. ugh! Uh, no, I had like 2 minutes to do this and then I need to be doing something else. Don't you think that if I wanted to sign up for something I could find the place on the bottom of the page for signing up for stuff?
Ok, end of rant.
I'm pretty much a 'leave me along, I'm smart enough to know what I want' person.

All they are doing is telling you how to get started, it's not big deal.
By setting up your boards, all they mean is what categories do you want to save to. You can set up one or any number you want.
It's a good way to file recipes. You could have one board for breakfast recipes, one for dinner recipes. Then when they send pix to you in your stream (which you see when you sign in) you can pick and choose what you want to save to your board. If you pin a casserole recipe, it will show the pic, but when you click on it, it gives you the recipe.
This is easy stuff, my daughter has an account, there are a couple of million people on Pinterest, some famous, most are women.
Honestly, this is simple stuff, no one is trying to trick you, they are giving instructions for use.
I'm sure there are plenty of people here who can help you.

Yes but I never indicated in any way that I wanted to sign up for this web site. All I did was to try without success to look at a link my daughter sent me. For them to assume that I wish to enroll on their site and swipe my E mail from the e mail my daughter sent me is totally obnoxious and out of bounds.

Hi Noel! Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought that her issue was that the ONLY reason they have her email address was because her friend emailed a link for her to see something there.
She didn't actually go there and sign up for anything, yet they are acting like she has requested these unsolicited emails.
If it is the case that she is not interested, that is the only reason I recommended unsubscribing and hopefully that will get them to back off with the unwanted solicitations. ![]()

I know there are boards where people save pix of book covers of books they want to read, so they don't forget. People save pix for home decorating ideas. Whatever you can think of, there is a way to save a photo and instructions.
I don't know all the details, but I do know my daughter took her own pic of a cake she made and uploaded that to share with her friends.

That's not it, they are not assuming anything. You have to sign up to participate, that way they don't get trolls and the like.
No one is trying to trick you there, most sites ask for your email etc to participate, like Zulily.
If you don't want to, you don't have to.

Hi CB ![]()
It goes back to the post above from me. You have to join to look or participate, like with Zulily and most other sites nowadays.
If you don't want to, you don't have to. You can just ignore it.

IF someone does join, you indicate your areas of interest.
For example:
Casserole recipes
What to see in New York
Pictures of dogs
Small homes
Whatever.
Then, when you sign in the next day, you will see pictures related to your interests. If you like the looks of one casserole, you click the P pin and tell them which board of yours you want a copy made to.
Your personal stream of what you want will be tailored to your likes. If you like Mary Brown's recipes you can click to FOLLOW her board so you can get more from her.
