I woke this morning with my dear mother weighing heavy on my heart❤ and wanted SO much to be able to hug and tell her I LOVE💝 her, then reality set in! She had been in poor health for years, and went to Heaven several years ago!😔

She contracted COVID, and passed during restrictions in the hospital! 😔I wanted SO badly to sit at her bedside and hold her hand during her transition! I INSISTED she be given a bed bath, and that her bed be changed so that she would have fresh linens! She could hear my voice and her favorite hymn playing thanks to the dedicated staff!!❤ Watching through the glass was surreal, and the most DIFFICULT thing I have EVER experienced!!! I had never cried so hard!!😢 I know others have unfortunately faced this very scenario.❤

Our relationship was TUMULTUOUS at times but she ALWAYS depended on me.❤ There were GOOD times as well, and I cherish those precious memories!❤ I especially miss her laugh!🥰 She was an EXCELLENT cook and baker, and thankfully those talents were passed on to me.😁 I have come to realize THAT was her way of caring.😊 She LOVED💝 her grandchildren, and they absolutely ADORED her!❤

I have been feeling quite sentimental for several days, and MISS her every day, but the past few days have been especially TOUGH! For those of you who may have a fractured relationship with your mother or just MISS her dearly❤, with Mother's Day approaching, PLEASE reach out and call her if you are able to! We are not promised tomorrow!🥰 I would give ANYTHING to have the chance to do so today!💝💝

@SandySparkles I'm sorry to hear that your mom passed during the height of Covid.  I think it was very cruel for those who were hospitalized to not be able to have their loved ones at their bedside if family members wanted to be there.  I can't imagine.

My own mother passed almost three years ago in May.  Her health had deteriorated so we had gone to visit in in April (I'm in PA and mom insisted on staying in south Fl).  When she passed she was in hospice in the hospital and none of us were around either....I felt guilty about that but was glad we did get to see her during her last few weeks.

Re: Missing My Mother Today...

@SandySparkles I know your loss well. My mother passed twenty years ago. Many times I want to ask her a question or tell her some exciting news, but she is not here. Feeling a bit lost or alone never seems to completely disappear. The oddest things bring that feeling back to the surface.

Your mom's loss at that horrid time was made especially difficult. I am sorry for those circumstances that compounded your grief and for the loss of your mom.

Re: Missing My Mother Today...

I am so sorry Sandy.  I too have been thinking about mine so much this week with Mother's Day coming up.  We lost her three days after Mother's Day in 2013.  On that holiday I sat by her bedside while she thought she was making me homemade soup and kept asking me if it was good.

I will never forget those last few days then how blessed she was to open her eyes and see our Lord.

Re: Missing My Mother Today...

@SandySparkles , I completely understand . My mom was truly my best friend and I  miss her every day.  When I was younger we had some rocky moments , but even then I knew she loved me and was always in my corner. If I possess any good qualities I owe it all to my tough, but fair German mom. My friends loved her and those her knew her still mention how much they miss her. I'm not religious, but part of me wishes all of our wonderful moms that are no longer with us are having coffee and chatting. Happy Mother's Day mama ! 🌷🪻🌷
