Each individual is different IMO. It all depends upon the individual man.

Work Harder, Smarter, and Make More Money".
For some reason, It wouldn't let me link to the piece. But it was pretty definitive, and goes along with the other "good news" research that shows that men who are married are also less violent in general, and therefore less of a threat to society.
Agree, or not?
Must say I disagree here if this study was conducted in the United States on United States citizens.

Really? We'd be in real trouble without research. No vaccine to prevent polio, no treatment for heart trouble, diabetes, etc.

@Oznell wrote:SUHse, that's another fascinating thing. I've read that domestic abuse is less among married couples than it is among cohabiting couples. So even in that horrible circumstance, it would appear that being married has a somewhat protective effect, compared to not being married...
Did this also include domestic violence prevalence among couples who smoke marijuana? That's the study I read.

It's about numbers, that's all. Basically they are saying more single men than married men are violent.
They are not saying married men never commit violence, just that fewer of them do than single men.

My second husband was a good provider but became a wife beater shortly after the marriage. I understand he is in his fifth marriage.

Just MHO but I trust studies done by independant sources more rather then a pro-marriage entity. (making sure results arent scewed) Then again I didnt see the poll or how it was done. Not saying is wrong but many of the men I talk to today definately say that there is very little benefit for them to get married. Same could be said for women and I wonder how the responses would be different or same?.....or would the poll be described then as sexist??? Just thinking aloud to myself.. I guess it depends on the numbers polled and a wide distribution of persons polled. If I was a man I would definately run from marriage LOLOL. I feel same as a woman until I was 48 yo.

FYI. This is just one of numerous studies over at least a couple of decades that all came to the same conclusion.

I think men should get married if they are suited for it. I read somewhere where married men who are in happy marriages live longer. As far as working harder, being smarter, etc. If you want to be successful and provide for your family those are good qualities to possess. I know men who are happier single and do not want the stress of supporting a family.
