my QVC packages have taken far less time getting t9 me than lots of really important mail!

one example - my property tax bill was postmarked on October 30 -  I received it on November 30!

There is only 1 bill that arrives late monthly.  I don't pay bills online.  I call the company to tell them I never received their bill, could you please send another?

I always get the person's name I am speaking with, the time I placed the call & the person's work or ID#.

When I eventually mail my check I always include a sticky note stapled to the check with the above underlined info.

@chickenbutt  We get mail usually around 8:00PM.  I always know the mailman is out because I see flashlights waving about.  We don't get mail everyday.  Usually every other day.   Sometimes I forget to check the mail.  When that happens I go out in the morning.  Our mail box is about 12 feet away.  So I have to go out in a coat.

Yes, I read the news.  IMO, the timing looked suspicious, but cost cutting has been happening for a while.  Two PO's in my area have been completely closed for about a year.

Many workers were asked to retire and some were laid off.  If no emergency funds were given to the PO, they would've be able to go on this fall. The problem still remains, We will have to provide more funds because without them, the mail will continue to be slowed down or even stopped in many areas.

Blame it on the dummies who required the billion of dollars of funds be held.  Someone needs to be aware that some things are impossible.  We can't just pull funds out of the air.   We can't afford stupid decisions or stupid laws.

Put the blame where it should be and instead of reading the news. Do a little research instead of believing everything you hear from the media.

I have posted a few times before 2020 that our PO was in big trouble and would crash even if cost cutting was done.  They are so far in debt and will never recover unless permanent changes are made.

Yes, our mail system was "messed with" in 2020.  

I've stated on here many times that our local mail service has deteriorated since summer 2020.  At first we blamed the pandemic, but then found out the real reason.  We don't receive some mail or it arrives weeks late.  Mail I've sent to others has never been received.  USPS was the one thing we could always count on - now I don't trust them.  At all.

I want to add that I don't blame the individual employees -- I feel they're doing the best they can considering the circumstances.  Most are working overtime, especially during the holidays.

What I've noticed a lot of people haven't received their new sticker in the mail for the renewal of their car tags. 

I'm still waiting for a new credit card that was mailed on the 23rd of Dec. I want to pay the bill online but I can't without the card and security code on the back.

 @Carmie  I don't believe everything I hear in the media.I've also discussed the situation with my mail carrier & he said that the actions of the Postmaster General caused the problem in my area.It didn't exist before! This is in addition to all the problems the post office has faced over the years.The issue in my neighborhood is a direct result of the irresponsible actions of the Postmaster General in his attempt to slow down the mail.

I received a Christmas gift today, (a surprise gift I didn’t know was sent).  Mailed from Maryland, to Pa.  mailed December 8, received in 30 days.  It was a nice surprise.  Told the sender thank you and it just arrived.  Probably wondered why I didn’t even acknowledge receiving it.  She couldn’t believe it took a month.

This whole thread is making me nervous!  With my husband retiring, we will be expecting important mail from Social Security and Medicare and now I don't know if, or when, we'll get it.  There's no way to know exactly when they send letters out, so I don't know if they're late, or missing, or what.  We never had to apply for Social Security on line before so I don't even know what they're sending me.  Talk about being in the dark, and at the mercy of the post office!

And like many of you, I have been receiving bills in the mail that are due either the next day or in 3 days.  In order not to have a late payment, I've had to pay at the company website with my debit card instead of on line with the bank.

I have continued to get paper bills instead of on line billing because of my husband.  He is totally computer impaired and if anything happened where I was unable to take care of household bills, nothing would get paid if we didn't get a paper bill.  With the state of the post office though, I need to rethink how I handle this.

Our mail is very hit or miss.  Some weeks we get it daily, other weeks they only deliver a couple times a week. 

As far as packages, I mailed 3 returns to different companies on December 28th.  the next day I received an e-mail from 2 of the companies indicating my return was on the way back.  As of today when I checked tracking for the return, there is nothing.  It's as if the PO scanned in the packages but nothing has happened from there.
