Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? I am waiting for an example of using this word in context. I firmly believe, as I said above, this word is not necessary. Please help with an example.

@SloopJohnB. Nope. That sentence is just fine and stands alone without that useless word.

@Catbelly I agree...all the words mentioned are over used..."basically..literally..I can't...etc..etc...
For some reason my little grandkids like to say Actually.
"Did you have fun at school"? "Actually...I did ""Do you want a cookie"? "Actually... I do "
"Are you ready to get a bath"? "Actually...no"
Seems like it's the new over used word for the kids too. 😊
That's the one that drives me crazy. Or it's twin..."I can't even".
You can't even what?

"It's got" rather than "it has"....drives me batty. I know it's petty but it just sounds so dumb. OK I'm finished complaining, for today.😁

When I told him to go jump in the lake I meant it figuratively not literally. I didn't know he could not swim.
I hope that the above sentence is a good example.

I told him I never wanted to see him again, but I didn't expect him to take it literally.

@lgfan. That is good, but the sentence would still stand alone if you left out "not literally."

@TheMemphisVette. This is a good example. I think 99.9% of the time, the word is not needed and sentences can stand alone. Thank you.
