@Sooner  It's just my opinon on phrases used constantly,  that Was my point !   It's an observation after watching Mary Beth for many , many years.   I feel I have a right  to my opinon as we all do here .   I like Mary Beth and always have ,  just get tired of hearing "etc" used when it doesn't really apply to what she is saying.

I think we all have our favorite "go to" word or phrase whether we realize it or not.  Mary Beth says "here's the thing". OK...what's the harm?

I think she is under the mistaken impression that this phrase is something we all use in our daily lives and she wants to have a connection - something in common if you will with us common folks.  I do not use that phrase and have never used that phrase even during my formative years and well into my 20s and 30s.  If I were to suddenly use it my husband would give me an xrated response.  Sigh.

The OP has every right to post how she feels about something. Y’all post all kinds of likes and dislikes on here everyday. IMO Mary Beth is not professional she uses all kinds of phrases like Here’s the thing, etc and I’ve even heard her say All that Jazz when she didn’t know what else to say. She’s been a host for a lot of years she should be better than this.

I am sure Mary Beth is a lovely person. But I just can not watch her presentations, partly due to the phrases she uses over and over again. I do think someone at QVC should point it out to her. Remember when Pat James Dementri said, “as well,” at the end of sentences? I swear one time I heard her say it after three sentences in a row. Then she just abruptly stopped doing that and I have not heard it since (not that I see every second she is on.) The OP is pointing out something that bothers her. It bothers me too, and surely bothers others. This is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of life. But it is something that can be corrected and improved upon and I don’t see anything wrong with pointing it out.
