I think I'll go to Home Depot and get a CROWBAR. di
@Desertdi I fought with one of those yesterday! I cussed at it and it still did no good. Brute force I'll say. Didn't know I had it in me!
@Sooner I actually FELL OVER ON MY BUTT wrestling with one of those things!!! di
@Desertdi Oh my dear friend I hope you do not have an injury! Especially because I'm laughing my butt off! I can certainly see where that could happen! ![]()

Real change in the last few years.
Today I broke a hair claw thingy and realize I can't figure out a fast way to get another. First world problem for sure.
I am going into town per usual each day for yoga, but can't bring myself to enter a B&M anymore.
Have a car, gas, cover for yoga pants, credit card, but no nerve.

Well, my shopping has not really changed all that much, except I do not need/want as much, so I buy a bit less, and I also try to purchase a higher level of quality so I never need to upgrade.
I have a great collection of clothes and jewelry and shoes, thanks to QVC, and also the fantastic malls in our area, especially King of Prussia and Willow Grove.
We rarely buy anything from Amazon, and we like to go out to Walmart and in to the store to shop for pet supplies. We have never ordered food for delivery except during the pandemic--we enjoy going out to restaurants and eating different foods in diverse environments.
One thing I miss is going to antique shows--we used to be able to go every weekend--nowadays many of those experiences have just disappeared off the radar. We also miss the old stand-by stores likes Sears, Lord & Taylor, etc., where we could always spend some money, either on ourselves or for gifts for family.
Thank goodness we are still active and healthy. We are trying to go through our bucket list of travel destinations, as are several of our friends, so that is where our priority for spending is right now (besides ongoing house projects).

Shopping has changed drastically for me. I rarely did online shopping. Just today I was looking at email ads for Chicos, Talbots, and couple of shoe brands. There is no joy in that activty. I loved going to the mall, moving from store to store getting ideas, touching fabrics, trying on different styles, finding a surprise on clearance, etc. The mall nearby is closed and I depend on the outlets not far away. They are ok but not the variety I used to have. Shoe stores at the outlet that carried my favorites are gone now too - Naturalizer and Easy Spirit as well as Walking Company. I find ordering shoes on line a real pain. I used to try on 5-8 pairs of shoes to get what was best. Talbots and Chicos as well as Target are my go tos, but I really don't need much. Need to use what nice things I got in past.
As for groceries, I learned to grocery shop at Wal-Mart during Covid. Still do in person there as well as online and in person at Aldi. I do some curb side at Target and Sams, as long as there is no additional charge. The shipping at QVC is usually too high so I move on when looking. I occasionally buy QVC but it has to be very unique or good buy. Occasionally buy household stuff at Amazon.
Basically shopping used to be an activity to relax and I really miss it. 😥😥

I would have ordered one from Amazon and I would have had it the next day or that same day if I ordered it early enough.

It sure has for us. Last week hubby decided it was time to give up driving. (Eye problems.) I never did drive. So now thankfully the senior center now takes me grocery shopping which I did today. Our six year old car with 10k miles on it went to our oldest, we bought another daughter a car last year. My old clothes I decided to give away and splurging on new stuff. They call it spending my kids inheritance. Amazon deliveries are pretty regular now too. From cat food to toothpaste comes to the door. The kids can take us out to eat. Our golden years are here like it or not.

I have always been more a brick and mortar shopper than a remote orderer, but that's the only similarity between my shopping now and my shopping then.
Once upon a time, I shopped often, bought often, bought lots of wants that weren't necessarily needs.
Now? I can go months without adding any clothing or cosmetics, years without buying any jewelry, kitchen items, or linens. Clearing a shelf gives me more pleasure than owning new and different might.
