Re: How Long Do You Leave Your Tree Up?

After New Years. I am planning to remove just the stuff that is very Christmas-y and leave the winter decor up for at least a month. I will have withdrawals if I take it all down at once. LOL

People taking it down today?  Not because it's too soon, but because I'm too exhausted to think of tackling that!  Today if I just force myself to do the laundry I've been neglecting, I'll be happy Smiley Happy

We took two trees down today.  Normally we put everything up, but I wanted to be lazy and look at the other stuff for a few more days.

The tree will come down after January 6th, and before Valentines Day here!   We love the way it lights up the house, and are in no hurry to pack it up for another year.   Twice in the 4 years I've been retired, we left the Christmas tree up for a full year.

There have been years when we left the tree up until just after Valentine's Day.  I often do a red and gold theme and that ties in beautifully with Valentines Day and I just don't see why I should take it down.  I just love the "glow".   For years my bff had a year round tree.  It started with keeping a Christmas tree up and lit until a relative recovered from a long hospital stay and came home to see it.  It morphed into a tree that she kept up all year, she decorated it according to the season.  I particularly loved it when she used pastel ornaments and birds for Easter.

I would have been very happy to "de-Christmas" today, but not my DH.  Everything will get put away next weekend.

I usually take down the tree and put all of the decorations away on New Year's Day as I am watching the Mummers.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I always feel sad when I see Christmas trees discarded on the curb the day after Christmas.

I feel exactly the same way.  For me, the Christmas season isn't over yet.
