How Long Do You Leave Your Tree Up?

I can't stand to have all of the clean up looking at me. My mind can't rest. I'll start in about two days and DH will be upset.

When I taught I had everything done so when I went back to school and exams hit, it wouldn't be a double whammy!

What do you do?

We no longer do a tree. When we did decorate it was just before Christmas ,and it stayed up until Epiphany.

Christmas isn't a one day event for us, the Christmas season ends on Jan 6th so we leave our tree and our decorations up through that date and usually a little longer because I love the way the house looks.

I miss it so when it comes down, so it's up at least a week after New Years , sometimes longer, 🎄🎄

I've put on my hardhat. Let the bashing of me begin!

I took ours down yesterday afternoon at 4:00 when we got home from my sister's house. It had been up two and a half weeks and in our family, that's enough. Normally I take it down on the 26th but when we got home yesterday it just felt right to do it.

And all but 2 gifts have been put away.

Having our get together tonight with my husband's family at his nephew's house.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

All my life, in whichever family household there is a tree, it comes down on the nearest weekend after New Years Day. This year that might mean the following weekend, as it might not be coming down on the day, and since the homeowner/decorator works 14+ hr days, weekends are it.

The tree will come down after January 6th, and before Valentines Day here! We love the way it lights up the house, and are in no hurry to pack it up for another year. Twice in the 4 years I've been retired, we left the Christmas tree up for a full year.

I already put the decor away except for the tree and a few pieces on the mantle. I did not have a ton to put away and the totes are easily accessible, so it was done in an hour. I will pack up the tree on Jan 1 while I watch football.
