Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

This was on the business page of my local newspaper. This includes Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies. Thank goodness I never watched those networks. I switched from Comcast this summer and am otherwise satisfied with Dish. Their customer service is 100% better than Comcast. I still have Comcast Internet. By the way, DirectTV is still negotiating with AMC and have told subscribers that they may lose access to Walking Dead next year. The Dish executive said they are facing fierce competition from Internet streaming.

Thanks for the info. Currently I don't know what I've got as my husband changes things from month to month depending on the savings incentives. I like Turner Classic and sometimes watch an old film. I don't watch the Walking Dead.

I don't have Dish, but we've been through this fighting between cable/satellite and channels over pricing.

This "You're going to lose it permanently." is just a ploy in the fight to get customers riled up and angry at the other side.

They want you to believe it's the other side that's being greedy and it's not their fault. They don't want you to get mad at them and change providers.

Re: Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

The same thing happened with Directv and The Weather Channel earlier this year. Directv actually took The Weather Channel off air for a couple of months and replaced it with the lame Weather Nation. The Weather Channel is back on, Directv lost a lot of customers in the process - we actually got a Weather Channel baseball cap and thank you card from The Weather Channel because we signed the petition to have it returned, so obviously The Weather Channel won the battle.

It's all a big show - Dish is trying to get a better deal from CNN and trying to say it's for the benefit of their customers. No TV provider is going to stop broadcasting major channels like CNN.

It's been off for a couple of weeks. I never watch it and I don't miss it. They should lower our rate and drop them permanently.

We have Dish and I couldn't even tell you what channel CNN is, nor the other channels mentioned.

Don't and won't miss them.
