These companies and channels are always trying to hold the (paying) viewer hostage.

The blaze has now been given channel 202. This is good news to us who have been paying alacart each month for access on channel 212.

Re: Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

I couldn't care less about CNN and HLN, etc., but I WANT TCM BACK! I've got my old cable company's phone number sitting right beside me right now because I'm tired of the games these providers play........if I have to changer services every couple of years, so be it! Dish is no longer offering me what I want and I completed my 2-yr contract a while ago, so they might be pulled sooner rather than later.

Re: Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

I hate how you have to select packages that include a bunch of dross, just to get a couple of channels you really want. Why can't we have a free market and just pick what we do want? Those that no one wants, will die off and no one will miss them.

We used to get a bunch of channels with Comcast that are high premium with DirecTV, so we no longer get those. I miss H2 and my Ancient Aliens {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I would not miss CNN. I can't remember the last time I watched TCM. I'd be happy if our TV didn't get any sport anything, ever (including the Superbowl).

I am with YOU! And the more these companies gobble up their competitors the worse this is going to get.

Re: Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

I think all available options should be available to everyone. My DH would be upset if either CNN or FNN were not available, even though he mostly disagrees with much of what is reported on both channels. I NEVER watch Fox, but he watches all 3 networks every night.

Re: Dish may permanently ax CNN from lineup

i think i have read that ""pick your own channel"" options will probably never be available because it would supposedly cost MORE to do that than if you choose a package deal. who would be willing to do THAT?
