Yes, but at least there is an ignore feature over there.

@Pearlee You can come and browse without registering, but only for a little while longer.

The boards will be locked.  Visiting guests will not be able to read the posts or see the posters nick names.

This is being done for security and privacy.

Currently there 644 people registered.

@Carmie  Why not give a specific date rather than "a little while longer?"  I am still undecided. I would hope you would let people browse there until this board closes.

@Carmie   I see you answered this but I wish you'd at least give a specific date.

Yes, everyone will have a clean slate.

There will be zero tolerance tor hateful interactions and we will not hesitate to ban posters if they are aggressive.  Warnings will be given before they are banned.

#1 rule.  Be respectable, always.

There will never be a place for nasty people on "q forum friends"

So far, everyone has been wonderful.  I hope it lasts.

I don't have a specific date yet and it is not for me to decide.  It will be a group decision...I am guessing perhaps the second week in November.  Not until the QVC forums are closed.

Did you come over and check things out yet? Honestly, it is really nice.  I know you would like it.

@Carmie

Great!  That's the biggest thing I was concerned about going private.  I'd like for people here that are leery or technically challenged to be able to view it before making a decision.  Many of us are still asking and answering questions about that forum over here where we're more comfortable.

And by the way, thank you for coming back here to answer these types of questions and to assuage people's doubts.❤️

So the new board will essentially become a closed island not allowing new entrants?  It seems that it will become insular with only the existing group.  No new outside thoughts and ideas.

At least at Q new posters were constantly popping up.

But I guess that always caused consternation so now everyone will have what they always wanted.

@Johnnyeager, The Q posters that are constantly popping up are becoming members of this forum to post. I have not heard anything about people not being able to join there once the forum is closed for viewing. Some forums there do allow guest to read certain parts or have a guest area and the rest is closed until they become a member. Closed for viewing does not necessarily mean that it is closed for joining. This will be up to the administrator and the team of mods that she has selected. If you join you will have the ability in your profile to cancel your membership at any time if you decide it is not a forum that you are interested in. I hope you will give it a try.

Please keep in mind the new board is only going into its 3rd day.  So much has been in that time but not everything can be addressed at once.

Improvements and corrections will be made in time.  Your suggestions to create a better experience are welcome.

Please be patient.  Everyone helping there is a volunteer.  With the holidays coming up, everyone will be on overload but I assure that we will do the best that we can.
