I can just picture her dancing with Patrick Swayze on her interview with him, before he passed away.

I didn't realize she was 93.  What an incredible life she lived.  I didn't really appreciate who she was until I was in my teens/early 20s.  During that time I really enjoyed watching her interviews.

It's so scary to me that so many people I grew up watching are now passing away.  They have always been there and it seemed like they would be around forever.  I'm still not over Betty White.

You aren't alone. Many say "I didn't realize X was that old". Think lots of us move along through the years,  not realizing that certain personalities we followed, are also getting older. Then reality hits and!  Yikes!! I am older too.

Barbara wrote her very interesting and amazing memoir, entitled "Audition," in 2008.

One reviewer wrote:

"Insecurity is what propelled her forward; her strong work ethic and some good timing helped to shape her amazing career.  But, all that success came at a price. It affected her marriages and her daughter, and it engendered amazing hostility from male colleagues unwilling to give this pioneer a break.

RIP Barbara.

@hckynutjohn Honestly?  I'd have guessed she was 103.  But then shows how old I am I suppose.

she was very active and left THE VIEW in 2014......only 8 years ago.

she did not look like she was in her mid 80s then.

Sad to see she passed. TMZ stated she hadn't been out in public since 2016. I am guessing it had to do with her dementia.. I never knew she had this disease.

I always enjoyed watching her "specials," where she would interview a special celebrity/person. I really looked forward to those shows.

I used to watch "The View" when it was first on TV and when she was a part of it and I really liked watching it back then.
