Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

@VegasBusinessWoman

I was in Vegas once many years ago for NYE and I agree.

Enjoy a buffet breakfast with elderly parents, then we say our goodbyes ... and enjoy a "safe" evening home with our two dogs.

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

We always stay in. New Year's Eve is my least favorite night of the year.

Even if we had something to do my husband isn't up to it. Also, my sister has been in the hospital since Thursday and I'm in no mood for forced fun.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Also staying home. Going to Times Square to watch the ball drop is not on my Bucket List!! 😆

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

For many years, DH and I would go out for a nice dinner.

Our tradition now is we stay home and DH makes surf & turf. I'm usually awake at midnight but DH is almost always asleep on the couch.

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

I stay in every New Years' Eve, and I don't generally stay up until midnight.  I'll stay up until 11:00 and go to bed shortly thereafter, but I have no desire to watch the ball drop or anything lke that.  Just another night for me.  Hopefully, the last night of terrible TV options.

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

We stay home, as well. Probably have pizza or Chinese take out.  We used to look forward to the ****** Clark New Year's Rokin Eve.  Getting too old and don't relate to the music that is played anymore. We live in metro Atlanta.  Used to look forward to watching the "Peach Drop" on our local station but it was canceled this year.

So... Probably rent a movie and fall asleep!  I'm sure we'll be up at midnight.  We live on a lake and those on the other side set off fireworks.

Happy New Year and blessings to all on the boards!

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

We host a house party every year.  Nice to see everyone but once you start that kind of thing it's kind of hard to take a year off.  Would have preferred to have a quieter evening, but it will be fun.  Somewhere between 20 and 30 people, but pretty low key.

Re: Anyone Else Staying In New Year's Eve?

I have festivities planned tomorrow, but they'll take place during the afternoon and early evening. I have no interest in being out on the roads with the partiers.
