For all of those suffering during this horrible ordeal, you have my deepest sympathy ,and fervent prayer it will end soon

It is cruel to lecture people with a smug and superior attitude ,when they are in such a terrible place regarding losses.

@Tyao. Have you heard of climate change!!€
Well climate change in and of itself is not going to start fires, unless you are talking about a bunch of lightening strikes. I can understand the high winds and dried up dead trees catching fire when the power lines are knocked down. Seems like the power company has not updated the lines and whatnot from what I have heard. That has to be very expensive for them and I hope the state of California can work with them to share the cost and maybe ease any regulations that may get in the way.

@Puppy Lips, with that logic, climate change by itself isn't going to melt glaciers.
Climate change has such widespread consequences that we probably don't even know yet just what havoc will occur.
But with regard to the devastating fires, it's like so many other weather disasters: It's a combination of factors.

Californians are now reaping what they've sown. So be it.

that isnt t entirely true. But I think I know where you may have gotten that info. I live near a forest, I have to slow down for loggers, they clear areas for a fact. But no, wedon't clear entire areas at free will, as that would cause mudslides and not be responsible, trees have to be a certain age before they are cut, have a disease or have fallen. . We have men who go through areas and mark trees for whacking. The wood is given or sold to those who want it.
there are some areas that are unaccessable, as the ravines are too deep and narrow. As I have stated most of the fires have been started by faulty equipment, or man. I guess faulty equipment could be stated as man made.
It's not the trees, it's the brush underneath the trees. California environmentalists sued and sued and sued to leave wooded areas alone, and fires then got worse. Every area that has followed this policy has gotten the same horrific results.

This is debunked misinformation.
No, it's the truth.

@Puppylips. These fire are being caused by high winds that cannot be controlled. We had a lot of rain last year which caused the brush to grow fast. People who
Live on high fire areas are required to cut back the brush or suffer huge fines. We are dealing with the wrath of Mother Nature and ClImate Change. The temps are getting hotter the winds are getting more intense. For people to blame the people is just ridiculous. I have lived here in So Cal since 1965. It has nothing to do with environmentalists. That is propaganda used by the right wing to place blame and defect from what thousands of scientists have said is the reason. CLIMATE CHANGE. Just like all over the country with increased hurricanes, tornados and floods
Thousands of scientists have also disagreed, and we've had the IPCC admit it's all about taking out capitalism. Over 20 studies now say any warming is due to the sun, and NASA just backed them up. We know, for a fact, that the planet itself spews out more filth than all of mankind combined, and plants would prefer four times the current Co2 levels. We know for a fact that water vapor (evaporation) holds three times more heat than Co2. Talk to any engineer as to how measurements are made, their accuracy or lack thereof, and that our temps are taken in areas where hotter cities developed. Was a mercury measurement saying 92.1 or 92? Then there are the THOUSANDS of temperature-change scandals do it would look like we're warming. I could go on, but trillions of dollars are on the line, and that's just for this country.
